The Curses Arcade?

I was just curious how many of you still played the games in the Curses Arcade. There are a few good games in there, if a bit obtuse.

what about the sub games?

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Do not play them. I am serious.

Star Zoo is hilarious. It gets repetitious, but it is hilarious.

I've played Star Zoo. I have no memories of it, only rage.

I wouldn't say "still play" on any ongoing basis, but I've played "Star Zoo" more than once with years between, so I picked that.

Star Zoo is too unforgivingly hard, because of the lack of save points.

I like Kosovo and Mutant Lab Escape.

Also, what, exactly, is so horrible about the "sub-games"? They're not nice, kid-friendly games, of course, but they're not that bad. What is this, 1950?

And yes, I've played them.

I don't.

Also, I think I was pretty good at Corin's Mystery Massacre at one point. I say I think, because it's really hard to be sure with that game.

They're... pretty horrible. Toady isn't lying. There's not a whole lot of gameplay value in most of them, and the production values don't particularly exist. Honestly, they're also pretty damn juvenile. I wouldn't be so harsh about it, but I'm pretty sure Toady already knows all this stuff or else he wouldn't have put up giant disclaimers all over the place on that page.

I mean, they're definitely too crass to be tasteful, of dubious quality, and potentially offensive. But it's a gross stretch to say that they're somehow "unfit for human consumption".

CMM is really hard when you start off, but when you learn what the hell to do it's easy as pie.

I'm honestly not sure what other criteria you have in mind, then.
