So how do does the guy from the " THe Days Ahead" thing work that stuff out with the talking? is the talking running over the game and once you are at a certain distance the voices of the others get lower? Or is that just Teamspeak or something?

They're shacktac guys, they use the ace radio mod on a custom server. It intergrates with ts so that you only hear people near you and some other advanced radio simulating things.

There's a bunch of DFC ts guys that are teamed up but they're having trouble getting connected. I was un us4 but it went down and now I can't get onto a server, anyone having any luck?

I was just on US3 and 1. It's spotty tonight due to upgrading the servers to .46, you should all also make sure you are using the latest files.

My name in there is Hemmingjay B12  but I am done for the night. I found a decent spot to hunker down with my AKM. Will wait for daylight.

edit: correction, the files is 1.4.6

Just got the mod installed (working on 6's installation now). Watching some videos to understand how it works. I'll need a moment or 2 to re-familiarize myself with the controls, and fine tune the mic so you can hear me panic or mock others' deaths.

EDIT:
Oh yeah, do we have an established Bay-12 server at all? Would be good to have marked down on the OP. Or PM for the server name at least.

There's no set server, it just seems to be whichever server everyone can get onto. I'm trying to get onto us4 right now but apparently everyone is stuck at the char info loading screen.

Cant have dedicated B12 server unless we manage to bribe Rocket, it used a special program to take care of player belonging database etc etc.

I'm sure when it gets out of alpha custom servers will be more widespread.

Yeah I was attempting to get in too but the updates are screwing with things. Ill probably try to drop in again sometime tomorrow morning or afternoon.

Wonder if Ill run into any of you guys.

Ugh, my ARMA files are screwed up. When first playing the game/mod, I had errors involving missing weapon files or something, and then it affected my logging into a server, had to use Steam to do a cache check on it, and it screwed things up even further, and now I can't re-update the mod, nor can I properly play the original game again. Not a real fan of uninstalling and then reinstalling, but I guess that's how this has to be settled now. >:(

EDIT:
In attempt to get used to it before diving head first into a server, I couldn't find any ways to play it singleplayer.

It seems there was an issue with the app they use to communicate between servers(for player inventory,ect) but that's apparently fixed now so if you couldn't get on before try now. The less players on a server the faster I find I connect.

It can't played single player right now, though the Devs have talked about releasing a "lite" version down the road (No ETA).

Is anyone else getting a problem like this:

It gets to the black screen with "loading..." and a progress bar at the bottom, the bar fills up, then *nothing*.
I'm not sure what's happening, I have to Alt-Tab out of Arma and close it.
This has happened every time I've tried to log in tonight.

Interesting...the last zombie mod for ArmA that I played turned out to be a big letdown (people wandering around randomly and hackers ruining it all), but this looks like it's done right.  I'll have to give it a try this weekend.
