Bleh. Trying to find a server that I can play with decent ping - any suggestions? I'm in Ireland.

Arma's netcode is shitty regardless, don't be afraid to try like 200 ping servers

Loading takes a while usually, especially if it's your first time, it takes forever.

Update released, followed by server crashing flood of people. The news said that all the servers died but the site and forum servers seem to be half working now, I'm downloading but I don't know if it's possible to actually play yet.

Because it's completely useless and not needed in an alpha, no reason to be in other than so teenage boys can play as girls, and that the "Girl Gamers" who stream can get more attention.

Did they at least change it so that female characters can hold guns? I seem to recall that was impossible in vanilla Arma II.

I assume so. I saw screenshots of one holding a gun as well as wearing an ALICE pack. At the moment though, they're limited to the default skin, none of the alternative skins will work.

Well now with the new skins in instead of dayz phrase being "you friendly?" it will now be "take of your clothes and no one has to die"
