Ofcourse I'm going to play this, is bay12 getting a guild sorted out? If not and people might be looking for one I'm going to be helping lead one with my other clan

Could always do both, since you can join as many guilds as you want!

I have never MMO'd before. I have heard generally good things about this game, mostly seething rage from the SWTOR fans.

I would gladly join a clan, I might not be good though, just forwarned.

I think the best part about this game is that, unlike other MMOs, you won't really need to be a master of the game to be usefull. Having every class be able to fill a variety of roles depending on what weapons/skills/perks they have equipped should hopefully mean that everyone can participate at every level of gameplay.

Ha been keeping up with this game for awhile, never thought to check to see if we had a thread on it.  Already have a pre order, and I guess I'm posting to watch.

I do have my current World of Warcraft guild that is planning to move over to Guild Wars upon release, but I hear that you can be a member of multiple clans?  If that's true I'd be happy to be a part of a Bay 12 Group as well.

Derp, missed fenrif's post.  So yea I'll join up assuming servers work out.  And don't worry Kilroy, I'm guessing everybody here would be happy to help you.

Yeah apparently you can join as many guilds as possible, and when you log on a character you pick which guild you're going to represent for that play session. Your guilds are also shared across your account, so it's not tied to the specific character you were playing when you joined up.

Basically it's a really well thought out guild system is what im saying. :P

Busy with grad school, work, my girlfriend... and I'd be lying if I didn't say I've been playing a bit more GW1 in preparation for GW2. ;)

It's easier to get a hold of me on steam or through the teamspeak I run.

Anyhow, you'll definitely be able to find me on GW2. I'll post my name when the Beta Weekend Event starts.

Hey nice, thanks for doing that Neyvn.  Nothing like a giveaway to drum up more interest. I think digital deluxe was one of the nicer ones too right?

It sure is. And thanks, Nevyn, that's incredibly generous of you. Whoever wins it is going to be ecstatic for months.

As much as I'm keen on trying this, I don't know that I want to risk getting hooked to an MMO again. I supposed there's little risk of it consuming an inordinate amount of time as long as I don't join any guilds or make any friends.

I can sympathize with that problem...but I've found that if I set goals/rewards for myself I tend to get more done...although it can be tough to force yourself to play casually...

The patcher for this weekend's BWE is now live, if you have the old one or know where to get the new one (hint - reddit - hint).  ;) The emails will probably be sent shortly.
