I havent seen the patch notes yet. But I am totally hoping for my charr to be able to ride around on the back of an Asura.

Yakknow as a twist to all the Asura players asking for a Charr mount.

EDIT: Speaking of new content, anyone know where I could locate some kind of synopsis of the story so far?  I've never really completed anything but the vanilla story, and was so lost in heart of thorns' story that I couldn't get into it to complete it.   DOn't want the same to happen again.

Some of the specializations are awesome *cough* deadeye with rifle/double pistols ( i do not aim with autoattack, he who aims with autoattack has forgotten the face of his father.), but im an engi main and having played the beta weekend, holosmiths alright but the scrapper hammer feels so much more powerful. Needs further !science! now though, but im probably sticking with the good old hammer.

Ah yes, the insatiable lust of corn and rice, clearly two of the most erotic foods.

Hoo boy. I'm not actually sure where the easiest place to find a summary is. Content-wise, you've missed the end of HoT, and the entirety of Living Story Season 3. To get you caught up (warning, actual goddamn spoilers below):

Huh.  Well that's an interesting way to go with things.  Thanks, a lot of things from the intro mission I couldn't resist not doing immediately because it gives me my own pet dinosaur actually make sense now.

The mounts make traveling so much less painful. Some classes/specializations don't get perma-swiftness or a passive movement boost and mounts remedy that. It's nice that they don't get slowed down by entering combat and that once upgraded they can go from the lion's arch bank to the trading post in one or two leaps, they're super fast. I wonder if they'll be implemented in WvW like gliders were.

So far I've fully unlocked and played Holosmith(engi) and Mirage(mesmer) and both are very strong and fun. I had a quick look at some of the soulbeast stuff and was sort of puzzled by the pet mismatch. Merging with some category of pets gives you 200 condition damage... except all the attacks these pets give you are power-based.

Yea there are some thingsd I like about the spec, like the stances and that one trait that shares them with allies, but on the other hand I feel like if I don't use the beast form I'm not playing the class to it's full potential, and I like my pet running around doing it's own thing too much to do that.

It's a straight up improvement to basically any cR variant; for raid/boss purposes, ideally, you want to spend as much time as possible merged with a Deadly pet and drop only to use its active ability before popping back in ASAP. All in all, it's a fairly uninteresting change to the class.

I haven't played since the first year. This bump convinced me to give it another try.

Went to the website, entered my account information, it says dual-authentication requires me to enter a number that has been sent to my email. I check my email, no authentication number. I try asking it to re-send the number and wait a while, still no email. So I send in a support ticket, including my account name, licence key, and date of purchase. Response from support says it's still not enough information to verify that it is my account, and they're not going to help me.

That's a real classy operation you're running there, ArenaNet.

I tried this at launch since it was a great gateway drug to get off Dungeons and Dragons Online.

After a few months I gave up, switched to tabletop gaming over online MMOs.

Honestly, my biggest criticism about these is the lack of VoIP support in the game. DDO did this (poorly at times), but at least had the option. With GW2, any random group had zero chance at communication. Major turn-off, and I don't wanna fiddle around with seventeen different third party voice chat programs for whatever group I find when it could have been built into the game.

Still, the game was fun for awhile. Might try logging back in and seeing what's changed.

I sent one last email to support pleading for assistance. Got another GM this time, who was happy to push my account-reset through.

Looks like it'll cost me $30 for each of the two expansions I need to get caught up on. I'll probably download the client and log in and run around a bit first to make sure I'm still interested.

Are you on the NA or EU servers? I'm not sure if it still matters though. I really need to do some catching up with the story because path of fire seems to start off after some major events that aren't explained unless I run the living story.

I posted a recap of the living story since HoT a bit up the page, if you're curious for a spoiler-laden summary.

NA versus EU does still matter, but it's the only thing that still matters; which server you're on within the region is irrelevant thanks to the Megaserver system, which opens and closes maps dynamically as player populations change. Your choice of server only determines your team for WvW, it does nothing in PvE or PvP.

I'm on the NA server.

I spent a couple hours today just messing around on my lowest level alt, trying to re-learn the basics. I think I've about got the hang of things. I really want the mount and glider, and to see the new places, so I'm going to buy the expansions now.

I just finished setting up ReShade. GW2 looks so much better now.

I'll never understand why game developers think their customers prefer looking at blurry environments.

If you PM me your username I can add you and help with the expansion stuff. It should be a username followed by a number.
