would it be possible?

Basically, no.

Toady is never going to really add graphics to this game, and will at best just make some slight effort to allow other people to make their own interfaces.

Further, that game is a two-dimensional RTS sort of game.  DF is a 3d simulation sandbox type of game whose creator hates aesthetically pleasing or intuitive user interfaces with the burning hatred of a million suns.

I love how the game looks now, it's just that I love to see things coming to life through animation, DF is like a book, gives plenty of room for imagination and that is more than enough but I would love to see DF in full 3d or 2d animated graphics, it wouldn't hurt.

Hahahaha

But honestly the part about it that bothers me the most is the inconsistancy of the interfaces.

the very fact that Dwarf Fortress is 3D would make any form of isometric graphics hugely impractical, as they can only show you the top layer or a single "slice" at a time, where as the way DF works now, it acts like many "slices" (z-levels) layered on top of eachother. A good example of how this is a proublem is stonesence, while it is a great utility for viewing above ground constructs and terrain, looking inside your fortress is largely just confusing, and would be very impractical for actually playing, and saying that, stonesence still has relativly "clean" graphics, operating in distinct tiles (as thats how DF works), fluid animation like in the cultures games would be impossible and very messy.

And also how some things can't be designated by mouse, like wall construction.
