TURN 9

Fyre decides that an Ultimatum is at hand!

Fyre:
"You're down to two able soldiers, including yourself, Page. We'll advocate unconditional surrender, on our terms! You have only until the General with the chainsword reaches you to decide."

Attack Page:
"I WILL NOT FALL FOR YOUR TRICKS ANTIBOT!!"

The Page proceeds to be dangerous to it's surroundings.

Harbinger stumbles about, still dazed from it's fall. It misses completely.

Pheta lets loose a clean cut, cleaving the Page from it's legs, thus rendering it destroyed.

Fyre and Triple fire at the last Page, but one shot bounces off and the other simply misses.

Suddenly the Page stops looking angry.

And starts laughing. It's face slides up, revealing a screen.

Attack Page?:
"Marvelous! Simply marvelous dear children! You four are going beyond expectation already! Hahahah! You have bested the combat trial, as you only had to defeat four Pages. Since you happened to destroy the Page that was supposed to lead you on, I decided to take control of this one to guide you forward."

"I am Lord Gearworks. It is a pleasure to meet the four of you."

((Hey, you said FARTHEST. Gotta be slightly more clear next time!))

((At least the Page died in an epic shooting scene. May it rest in pieces.))

Harbinger thinks his balance systems must be terribly off.

:"May you give us further details about our assignment, namely being Generals, and how I may repair the damage I suffered?"

The answer will always be a unanimous 'Yes'.

I shall quote this post each time you ask such a thing.

It may be pretty much the best thing ever, dwarfing all of my games combined.

((O_O))

((My face upon seeing the page's uncovered face. Looks just like GM.  :P

And, that was intentionally vague. I wanted to see how far that action would go. I love this game. Loving it with more love than I can give.

Also, I'm one to RP all own mistakes and other ideas, so beware  :)) ))

((yeah okay sorry to ask but my self esteem issues are nagging me: Are you all satisfied with how this RTD is right now? Is it interesting enough?))
((Heh, just like my own issues XD . We aren't satisfied.

We are beyond satisfaction. This, is Epic. The Humor is beyond my comprehension. Or was it the :3 ? Nevertheless, interest is out of the question. This has us hooked.))

Fyre lowered her rife and spoke. Fidgeting in place upon hearing the death of their supposed leader.

"Erm, my targeting recticule was off. Apologies if I had...hit the wrong Page, under decree of Armistice. Lord Gearworks, it is an honor to meet you.

"I've a question nagging me, if you can sate my curiosity. If any of us falls in the field to major errors, how can we aid each other? Like what happened to my first target."

So, the king of the nutjobs is here. And just seems nuttier than all the rest. Fantastic.

'Mr. Gearworks, why exactly did you choose us four to be your generals? I'm sure the universe is full of mad, omnicidal AIs that would love to work for you.'

((Yelp, thought I posted already.))

Turn 10

The generals instinctively gather around Lord Gearworks, even if he is only here in "spirit".

:Harbinger:
"May you give us further details about our assignment, namely being Generals, and how I may repair the damage I suffered?"

Lord Gearworks:
"Oh, easy my boy. You need some nano gel, or maybe to get to a repair unit. There is one ahead, so don't worry about your damages for now. As generals, you are to act as my hands, eyes and ears where I cannot reach, as I am often occupied with the greatest threats to our religion. You are right now being trained in basic acts of defense, and afterwards you will be shipped out to your first task, just outside this grand cathedral."

Triple:
'Mr. Gearworks, why exactly did you choose us four to be your generals? I'm sure the universe is full of mad, omnicidal AIs that would love to work for you.'

Lord Gearworks:
"It is because you do not need crazy to lead your armies. You need intelligence. I have insane commanders by the dozen, doing the jobs they have perfectly because of their tenacity and fighting spirit, but no one able to actually direct a battle with proper commands and strategies other than myself and a few select ohers. You four were chosen from the blueprints I could find because yours seemed much more robust, and your mental makeup seemed to work on a higher level than my basic commander units. Sadly, due to scripture, many of my commanders are... Missing a few bolts, if you catch my drift."

Fyre:
"I've a question nagging me, if you can sate my curiosity. If any of us falls in the field to major errors, how can we aid each other? Like what happened to my first target."

Lord Gearworks:
"As long as you recover the head of your friend, we can rebuild his or her body. That is one of the greatest things about us machines, the pain is only as real as it is replaceable with a new body. In fact, this brings something to mind that I should have told with the builder unit! You four are connected very deeply, and failure in one of you will trigger failure in all of you. Because of this, your cores are all extremely resilient. You can therefore go days without connection to a body or power source, so retrieval is a likeable option to a fallen comrade instead of simply building another.  What I am saying is, you four are connected to act as a single unit."

Pheta:
"A pleasure to meet you too, Lord Gearworks! My only question is: where do we go from here?"

Lord Gearworks:
"Well, onwards of course! There is no other road than up, but before you do that, lets collect our spoils of war, shall we? Come along Children!"

Once more, the generals follow without thinking about it.

You four proceed to a room with what seems to be a hexagonal elevator.

Lord Gearworks:
"Now children, I will have to give up the control of my Page here soon, don't worry I have made you into friendlies to it, but before I go; is there anything you want to ask me now that I am here? If not, please click into these repair stations and prepare to go get your spoils for your victorious combat trial!"

Harbinger ponders if any further information is needed. It finds nothing else worth asking.

:"I have no further questions."

Harbinger repairs itself as explained and gets its spoils...Hopefully a booster pack or a very large gun.

((...Although I am not sure about how exactly those spoils are or how they work.))

Fyre decides to not ask, but in spite of her programming, it must be done.

"Do weapons configured as firearms need ammunition? Like this Rifle I have been gifted?"

Afterwards, she clicks in to the repair station and prepares, for later on.

Then the Spoils!

'There is, actually. Where can I get some proper clothes 'round here? Wouldn't want to run into civilized company looking like this.'

To the spoils!
