Unsure what to do, I built a bridge over the river bisecting everything for my vampire, stationed her across the way, build a wall with a roof around her on top of the tallest mountain, and destroyed the bridge. We'll see what happens.

That baby's still being questioned, though. Lack of empathy? Lack of pity? Sociopath, through and through.

Anyone checked if a dwarf with her breasts cut off in combat will make the dwarf baby starve to death?

As far as DF is concerned, everything is covered by the upper body

Throw the baby into a river, if it lives it's a vampire if it drowns you just murdered a baby so win-win.

Lock it up in a room, if it becomes hungry it's not a vampire, if it is.. KILL THE WRETCHED BEAST.

Dwarves are actually monotremes.  They don't nurse, they just secrete booze directly from pores on their skin.  The baby laps it up as it drips down the mother's skin.

I don't understand, though that is about right with anything DF related.
I just hope he dies the same death that all dwarfs deserve: liver disease.

Are only dwarfs vampires?, anyone seen a Kobold Vampire yet? anyone willing to draw fanart thereof?
I once generated a world where a Dwarven civilization was ruled by a goblin vampire.

Don't tell anyone that you can see their shadows. If they hear you telling anyone, if you let them know that you know of them, they will get you.

If Dwarves are Monotremes, that means they lay eggs too.
Nah...

Although I am dead set on the thesis that Kobolds are essentially a three way combo of a Playpus, a Dog, and a Gremlin.

This is a side-effect of dwarven animal training (hit animal with hammer until it forgets that it hates you, then lovingly cuddle it).

Not to rain on the parade, but I don't think a baby can be a vampire. Why?

Have you ever seen a baby arrive in a migrant wave?

No! Babies are only born in your fort. I have never seen a migrant bring a baby. I have never seen a baby in adventurer mode. Children, yes, but never babies. Outside of your fort everyone is born as a 1-year-old child, which I imagine must be somewhat uncomfortable for the mother.

Babies do not voluntarily eat or drink, so there is no way that a baby could become a vampire unless it were injured, moved to a bed, and given water laced with vampire blood. This strikes me as improbable, although that doesn't mean it isn't worth testing ;)

Also worth testing is what happens to mothers who drink vampire blood while they are still carrying babies around.
