Shouldn't there be like several hundred posts by now or something?

And re. the books: I so want to know how you did that, although I have a hunch...

I have an idea. Let's play a game where you win by being as quiet as possible.
I get it, it's one of those games where losing is fun!

I want to tell you they were bad men, cephalo.  I want to tell you that with a better overseer the Fortress never would've gotten so bad someone would get offed in a pointless fisticuffs.
But the sad truth charlie?
It was inevitable.

Toady. I want to say a huge happy birthday to you. Dwarf Fortress, your brainchild, is the best game I have ever played. I'm not just saying this, I have never played a game that I enjoyed quite as much. It's unbelievable, really, how much work you put into this. My favorite genre is open world and free roam gaming. Well, I'm pretty sure you can't get more open than this. I just want to say, thank you for the best game ever, and thank you for keeping it free for those of us who really can't pay for games every other day.  :P

You may think that you know the beauty of DF. It's not in the graphics. It's in the babies and the war dogs that give birth while fighting. And the fighting baby war dogs. Read the history, you won't be disappointed.
