Archetype: The Mad Scientist
Trait: Eureka!
Organisation Name: Black Laboratories
Funds: $5,000
Resources: 100
Base: An isolated outpost somewhere in Canada

A bell tolled as Dr Jill Barnesworth stared at the nameplate. Releasing her grip, a handful of earth fell onto the inlaid wood. Then, her father did the same, followed by the rest of the group. Although, a group numbering in single figures doesn't take very long to say their last goodbyes. Then, the earth was tipped back into place leaving just a piece of stone to mark the final resting place of the most important person in Jill's life.

The drive was a long one, and silent. Her father had wanted her to return to the house, but there was nothing there for her now. Instead she turned towards the hills, into the snow and isolation. Finally, she came across an abandoned building, the owner's name was difficult to read. This was where she stand.. This is where she would make those who forgot her mother pay. This is when she would be Dr Black.

Looking once more at the sign, she read what letters could be seen.

'Dr R--e Sm-t- Own-r of Smi-- Indu-tri-s'

I have an idea to balance the mission success rate, just increase heat.
It would make sense since people will recognize him as the ringleader or whatever.

Limiting to just non-field missions is really enough. Otherwise there's no heat to generate. Its plotting and such. IF it were field mission, there would be a chance to get caught if there was an epic fail. Which would cause follow up mission to break out (difficulty based on notor bracket)

Yeah, the idea with Frontline Leader is while the leader gives big bonuses (either a massive self bonus or smaller yet still noticeable bonus to minions on that mission with him), he puts himself at risk every time he goes out.  His skill isn't staying and home and plotting or researching- it's putting himself at risk to make sure the mission gets done.

Also, if you split your minions over two or more missions, only the one the EG goes out on gets bonuses.

There's plenty of room for balancing in the numbers as well- a +5 bonus to all minions and a +20 bonus is a huge difference.

I'll have a prototype sheet up once I decide which flavor I'd rather be.

Though we'll be fine tuning the numbers on those abilities, Frontline leader sounds fine!

Doctor von Iron is an imposing man- tall, broad-shouldered, and often sporting a predatory grin. He's not what most people think of when they imagine a mad scientist, but he certainly looks like a man of great ability and reckless ambition.

Spurned by colleagues and beneficiaries due to his frightening brilliance and disturbing goals, as well as very well-founded rumors of being related to an escaped Nazi scientist, Doctor von Iron has instead founded the Ring of Iron, a small but shadowy group that intends nothing less than utter world domination through superior research and manufacturing abilities.

Currently consisting of only one scientist and four regular minions, located in an abandoned warehouse in southwestern Pennsylvania, and boasting a mere 100 resources and $5000 in cash, the Ring of Iron nonetheless intends to one day be one of the largest, wealthiest, and by far most dangerous powers on the planet.

((Also, this has reminded me that you should totally add aliens to the game. Just think of the possibilities dealing with X-COM might open up! :P))

But if we added in Aliens, it would take away from the main focus of destroying/subjugating the earth. me and CG did discuss this.

But if the GM is uncomfortable with or inexperienced with xenobiological lifeforms, it could just ruin the RP.

inexperience isnt the issue (as we've both made several good runs into the hardest difficulty of XCOM) its simply the matter of not being genre friendly

Don't worry, the ten people won't mind.

Here is hoping I get to make the headlines as much as I did last time!
