I made a generic Happy Birthday map saved just at the point I caused an "accidental" cave-in.  At the end there is a couple dead dwarfs, a dead diplomat, and some gems scattered around.  I want to upload the map but there seems to be some sort of issue somewhere along the line.  (In reality, I was trying to set it up where you could pull a lever to cause the cave-in.  I set it up wrong.)

Make a fortress that's exactly like Portal (with modded in portal guns obviously).
And make him go through it as an adventurer to get the birthday cake :3.

Ok, I successfully uploaded my "Happy Birthday" fort map/world.  It would be great if we can get all the projects to Toady so he can play/view them.

I fired up Ol' Swordthunders and made a little thing on the surface of the HFS with DFHack using obsidian and magma

I have a dremel and a box of old Saguaro ribs that are ~1 ft long from my old DF materials property research.

I've been toying with the idea of making an "artifact" out of it for Toady and shipping it over in a tube mailer, but I'm a dabbling wood carver at best.

Any ideas?

You could have berries on the rocks and the dwarves would say it was "berry gneiss."

Why couldn't my vampire Hammerer eat someone useless, like a migrant? Instead, she went after my only gemcutter.. but sadly there were no witnesses, so I convicted someone's pet duck as the murderer.  It got off easy, with no beatings or jail time.  >.<

"This is a saguaro rib wood figurine carved out of saguaro rib wood.  All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality.  It is decorated with hanging rings of saguaro rib wood and menaces with spikes of saguaro rib wood...."

Hmm....

Imagine the will it took to create a fortress like this. And what have you elves built? Nothing. You can only loot and break. You're not dwarves!! You're just termites at Versailles.

It's not that I don't suffer, it's that I know the unimportance of suffering, I know that pain is to be fought and thrown aside, not to be accepted as part of one's soul and as a permanent scar across one's view of existence.

I think yours is slightly better Schizotek.  I did do mine IN the HFS, but you did yours properly in-game without cheating.

Btw when I embarked on that birthday volcano I got the message that a shrine had been discovered. I assume this shrine is the random perfect rectangle of basalt, with basalt pillars of random height and a hill titan chillaxin in it. WTF is this. Doesn't seem like something that could be modded in so I assume its a vanilla feature. Never encountered or heard of this. So what gives?
