I was thinking there would be a passive and active set for each Aspect, but this is a workable idea too, I suppose.

As for your idea freeform, a unique skill based on your Full Title, that could be incorporated, rather than be the entire thing. But for that, in addition to giving the Aspects more concrete definitions (especially the aspects of Rage, Blood and Doom), we need to understand the classes better as well.

So, the Thief and Rogue have already been discussed in comic, as well as the Bard and Prince.

On reflection, I think the Prince stands opposite the Bard. The Prince is a Destroyer class, and the Bard, which invites destruction through his aspect, so there is the passive, active thingy.

Maids and Knights would appear to be two sides of the same coin. Knights protecting with their aspect, Maids protected by their aspect. So the Maid class, instead of as it is now, where it's a high mobility blitzkrieg type class, would be more... tanky? I guess? So Mikhael having some kind of Mindcrush power doesn't make too much sense. By my logic.

SirAaron is right of course with the Seer/Sylph class pairing. I'm not certain what abilities the Sylph class would have though. Perhaps, by default, they are healers?

So, we are left with the Heir, the Mage, the Witch, and the Page.

The Heir inherits, by the most base interpretation of the title, and John did gain a lot in terms of power and strength across the story. Then again, so did everyone else, and I have no idea what Equius inherited.

The Mage, in canon terms, is something of a mystery to me. I was thinking a few days ago it could be defined as 'One who Understands x', but I have no idea what led me there in retrospect.

Not too sure about the Witch, either. If nothing else, my gut says Active.

No clue about the Page either.

I don't know about the Maid and Knight Pairing. John has pretty much been saved by the wind in quite a few situations, so the Heir could also be one who is protected by his aspect? This could equate to the player's Aspect saving them by giving bonuses to them in Battle when they are in very Dangerous Situations.

Meanwhile, Dave has pretty much saved everyone in his group with his time powers, and if were going off the theory that Blood could equal Peace or Alliance in some way, then Karkat calming down Gamzee would make Knight a shoe-in for someone who protects others with his Aspect. I'm not sure how this could be used as a gameplay thing, maybe like the Heir only it works on others? I don't know.

But I'm talking too much about what I think and want. Seer and Sylph could work, if were going off the whole seeing thing. I want to say that I could think of something independently, but the ever so shiny Wiki says that it has to do something with psychological wounds or something, I don't know.

Witch is very likely Active, but I can't rule out Passive. She helped John and a bunch of other people with her actions in cascade.

I also agree with your assumption with Mage. It likely had to do with Sollux's accurate prophecies of Doom to the Troll session.

And fuck the Page. We don't have enough info in anything to make an educated assumption of any kind. WMG anyone?

Actually, I like the idea of a seperate passive/active set for each Aspect. I thought we were defining passives and actives to rework the classes, though we could do that too.

Posting to follow the progression of the B12 Homestuck RPG build, and help where I can :)

For the Heir I got the feeling the class worked as a sort of middle ground character, helping where needed, and unleashing great power at the right time to turn the flow of a battle. That is just how I interpreted it though :\ .

Actually, having the Heir and Page as a set being the Mario Active/Passive set might make sense.

I read it and paid attention!

Just, we aren't nailing anything down yet. We'll keep your notes on John being saved by the windy thing and its implications in mind.

so you guys have been doing this in maptool, right? What kind of art did you use, and where did you get it from? I've been trying to set up a session, and been foiled by a lack of proper sburb art.

Actually we're doing it as a play-by-post. We don't really have anything for SBURB tiles. Sorry about that.

Nononono, no maptools here. My internet is far too horrible for that. We've been using MSPaint and img.ie

I assure you, we do not. I believed the question came up early on, but I shot that down pretty quick.
