Just to clarify, you can have internal docks with no launch shute, they'll just have to be on the outer deck of the ship?
Yes.
Oh, and:

EDIT: Also, what's the difference between passive and active radar? Would there be any point to having both, other than a lower-energy-cost option when you don't feel active radar is called for?
Passive radar:
Energy efficient
Short range
Easier to stealth against
Doesn't betray your ships location

Active radar:
More energy use
Longer range
Hard to stealth against
Betrays your ship location to the enemy, even if they can't really see you with their radar.

Facepalm. I had been mistaken and was taking light armor as 20 credits per size point, medium as 40 and so on.
That was the old system. In the new system all size units where divided by 10

@ Ironoyowl/Caellath/everyone else Would you mlind if I start the game asynchronously. Ie starting when the first ship is ready and crewded and adding the other when it's finished too.

The problem with this is that then nobody knows what the alternative to the ship they're joining is.

I do understand that you want to get this started, though. I'll try to hurry up on mine, though that's not necessarily saying much.

Yeah kinda. I also should get around to finishing your enemies and the sheet.

Is your character / bio ready. It might be helpfull if you could post that one, since it would allow me to start to work on your starting situation.

Full character no, bio more or less. High medical and engineering, most likely.

I believe the captain's race is essentially humanoid Tyrannosaurus Rex's in appearance, but I'm not sure.

Simply put, the captain is on an Enterprise-style mission to the stars- explore everything, gather samples of everything, conduct research of everything, seduce everything, and so on and so forth. It's a bold, prestigious occupation, and one he's more than willing to undertake in the name of being able to experiment on and improve everything in the process.

As for his race in general:

Spoiler: "Dragons" (click to show/hide)

Quote
C-178: C-178 is a biological agent "designed" to merge all life into a single mass. It was originally conceived completely by accident, during efforts to produce a virus that could harvest and preserve countless genetic samples, allowing them to release it onto a planet, let it run, and then harvest the result, thereby saving a great deal of time and effort. Instead, this particular strain actually began using the samples coherently, which prompted further examination. The result was a virus that, in theory, would not just infect and amass life, but actually cause it to start intermingling into a coherent colony or mass. No large-scale testing has yet been performed, but in theory the military application of this substance could render the entire surface of the planet (and every living thing upon it) into a single living membrane. It's a good example of something the Dragons would never want to use but just can't stop themselves from researching.

Coincidence?

As for the exploration thingy, i have a system to dynamically generate solar systems and planets lying around, though I think I 'll need to nerf the blackhole chance a bit.
On a side note: The sheet is nearing completion.

That URL needs a bit of tweaking (provided) for others to see it. But yes, oddly enough; I hadn't even read that other game, though I had noticed it.

Glad to hear about the thingy generation. Now the question becomes, do you have a method to dynamically generate excuses for our crew to have to fight something to the death in a primitive arena? :P

It's an RTD.  Besides that, you're just jumping to unkown/deactivated beacons. These will have been placed there for a reason.

Also, I think those Pegasi might be one of the few things that could take on the Earth's planetary defense Torus. (Yes , I'm going to go with a mildly xenophobe, isiolasionistic terran empire)

Sigh. Irony has to go for the obviously overpowered weapons of planetary domination instead of sticking to the basics.

I doubt he has acces to them though.

Also the sheat is almost finished. I just need to add the other tab. Ask me if you don't understand something.

Later on. Until we have a Capital ship.

A personal arena is under the works in one of them, I believe.

I am at the moment:

A) Rebuilding my Capital Ship which I formerly thought to be impossible to salvage;
B) Building such a hard-hitting and cheap Frigate I may just end up with two of them.

Edit: ...What are the heatsinks for after all?

Ooops, I forgot the cap for shield generators is 1*size. Now my frigate has a huge-ass shield for such a small ship, it seems.

Edit 2: Shouldn't the "length" measurement be based on the outer decks? Actually right now my ships are kind of strange, due to their short length in comparison to their size.
