Baldur's Gate II Co-op Interest?
« on: April 16, 2012, 10:30:59 am »

Hello,
Due to a combination of the Enhanced edition of the game being announced along with me finding out that there are multiplayer capabilities built in, I was struck with nostalgia and decided to reinstall the game. I'm looking to do a play through of Shadows of Amn and probably Throne of Baal, both co op. If any of you are interested do let me know and we will figure something out for times/scheduling.

Enhanced edition? What is this 'Enhanced Edition' you speak of and where can I find out more?

Also, the original had multiplayer capabilities already, it's just a bit tricky to get it working. Still, I love the game so ptw.

Well, that was fast.

Apparently an Edmonton-based company is working with developers of the original game to re-release it with new content, and also port it to other OSs. Slated to be released during the Summer, I believe. http://www.baldursgate.com/

Yeah, that's what I have heard. I did some quick testing, however, and it seems to be functioning properly with a tool called Gameranger, which simply creates a virtual LAN network like Hamachi. What times are you available to play?

Oooh, I probably shouldn't. Not with my shedule of uni work... I'll have to get back to you after thinking it over, but if I can't make it and someone else does instead, can one of you post what happens each session for those poor bastards who haven't played this magnificent game?

Also, can't wait to get my hands on that enhanced edition!  :D

I do not think so, although I would need to have the voice in order to hear it on my end. The game would play fine without it though.

Just the official ToB patch, along with several components from the G3 Fixpack and Tweak Pack. If it would make it easier I can remove those, although they certainly reduce the chances of quests breaking and the like.
