Turn 126This was expected.
Command cruisers aren't a big deal since they're so slow, but upgrades are always good.
Next it's back to Construction, which will unlock the Utopia Planitia shipyards in Sol.
This wasn't.
Then again we
have been blowing up all their ships and outposts for the last few turns.
In shipbuilding news, the USS Boughn A completed in Trill, and is being sent to the Zadar system to begin terraforming. The USS Quebec A finished in Bolarus. This troop transport can just sit tight for a while. We can't even build starbases yet.
On the advice of Admiral Jarod Cain, I'm ordering the Grey Fleet to explore some of the unexplored sectors it can reach near Ferengi and Cardassian territory. At the moment we can't be absolutely sure of their military capabilities, but at the moment no enemy ships are in sensor range. Except a Cardassian scout, but at the moment it's inconsequential.
Finally, I noticed we have around 14000 credits at the moment. That's enough to buy an awful lot of favor with a minor race. I've decided to bribe the Sheliak into ending their pointless "war" with us and beginning to trade.
Turn 127The Vulcans are behaving rather more aggressively than I would anticipate.
Again, merely lip service. They won't do anything practical against the Ferengi.
We've also received messages from the Selay, Caldonians, Talarians, and Ktarians offering their support. Since they're all members, all this means is that they are a little less likely to respond to Ferengi bribes.
In other inconsequential news, the USS Warsaw A completed in Bolarus. This marks the completion of our 4th troop transport. It and the Quebec will remain in orbit of Bolarus until they're needed.
Turn 128Not much to report this turn. A shipyard completed in the Zakdorn system. This has extended the range of our scouts far enough to investigate the "Alien Entity" we saw on turn 116. I'm redirecting the Sandhusky to investigate. Additionally the Grey Fleet finished checking the unexplored sectors near the Ferengi/Cardassian border. Its presence in enemy territory is only useful if it can find or destroy enemy ships. Perhaps there are some Cardassian ships in range...
The only other thing worth mentioning is that the Monrovia has begun building an outpost over Sol. The Rome will arrive to assist next turn.
Turn 129Again, uneventful. Sol completed a lengthy factory upgrade, and has a lot of work to do to get fully developed. I'm considering building more factories and scrapping the universities in the system. It's obvious we can get our research done elsewhere in the empire.
Also the Ferengi announced that they had signed a non-aggression pact with a group called the Klingons.
Turn 130First contact!
I also had their system selected for this shot. It's an excellent system right on the Cardassian border.
The Edo are a friendly, peaceful race who somehow managed to run afoul of the Cardassian Union. They're actively at war, and it's clear that the only reason they haven't been conquered is due to their "god". The Edo God is a spaceborne lifeform that easily dwarfs even our largest starbases. The good news is, they seem to like us. I see no reason why we should engage in hostilities, so I'm sending them an offer of friendship.
Additionally, our focused research efforts have resulted in another breakthrough.
Next, Biotech.
Also the USS Chriss A colonized Durenia.
The system is tiny and worthless, but we might as well claim it.
The Morrison finished terraforming Benecia, so I'm sending it to Durenia to terraform the 2 remaining planets in the system.
Turn 131Another mundane turn, for the most part. There has been a little headway in the diplomacy department. The Sheliak accepted our offer of friendship and trade. This effectively ends our war and I've assigned a trade route to their system from Zakdorn. Other than that, the only interesting thing to happen was that the Ferengi and the Klingons signed an affiliation treaty.
Plus the Rome and Monrovia completed the outpost over Sol. The Rome converted it's warp core to the power plant for the outpost, effectively removing it from service.
Turn 132The Boughn colonized the Zadar system. Last turn the Johnson completed terraforming the Selay system and is moving to terraform the remaining planets in the system.
This system is about as worthless as Durenia.
In diplomatic news, the Romulans and the Cardassians signed an affiliation. It would appear that the entire galaxy is uniting against us. Also the Edo were quite willing to trade, and have accepted our offer of friendship. They are getting the second of Zakdorn's trade routes.
Turn 133With multiple systems dedicating most of their population to research, we complete our Biotech research in only 3 turns.
Computer is next.
The upgraded colony ships will land with more colonists and more infrastructure. Durenia and Zadar are the last of our totally-shit colonies!
The only other thing of note this turn is that I've decided to bribe the Antedeans enough to open trade negotiations with them. We have the money, though I'm sure we could spend it on upgrades if we wanted.
Turn 134I've settled on a location to build the Genesis Research Lab. It turns out that the Selay system can support it without any changes to its other tasks. It will complete in 2 turns.
The Sandhusky scouted the Setlik system this turn. It's as uninteresting as the rest of the vacant systems we seem to find. Here's a picture of the area we've scouted lately.
Not much to report, see the location of Bajor for where this fits into the rest of the map.
Turn 135Effectively nothing to report. The Bajorans and Sheliak seem to like us an awful lot, so I'm sending them affiliation treaties in hopes they will accept. Other than that, all our systems are upgrading, all our fleets are finding nothing at all, and the First Destroyer Fleet continues to bomb Romulus. The system is down to 185/355 population.
Turn 136This happened.
It's good to have them as friends now.
Also the Bajorans sent us an offer of affiliation at the same time we sent our own. I'll accept of course.
Turn 137The Sheliak were not enticed by our offer of affiliation, but that's all right. The trade we are giving them will boost our relationship eventually. We've also reached the point with the Antedeans where I'm willing to send them an offer of friendship. I hope we can do something else with our money now.
For RealsThis update was a bit boring. Both to play and to report.
The truth is that we've basically obliterated the Romulan and Ferengi fleets, and the Cardassian fleet may simply be non-existant. I've had the Unity Fleet over Balosnee to destroy any incoming ships, and the Grey Fleet has been criss-crossing Ferengi and Cardassian territory looking for ships. All with no luck.
The First Destroyer Fleet is slowly bombing Romulus to dust. To be honest I think we could pull back both the Grey Fleet and the Unity Fleet to help speed the process with no impact on our border security.
Our systems have been upgrading like crazy. I'm going to transition Sol into a dedicated shipyard, along with the Zakdorn system. They can both build ship training facilities, which will allow them to produce ships with a moderately-trained crew. Our other large shipbuilding systems like Mintaka can focus on colony ships or troop transports, which don't benefit from crew training.
But seriously, 10 of our 16 systems are currently upgrading factories. And the other 6 are either minor race systems whose factories were already tech level 5, or are newly-colonized systems still growing. There's simply nothing to report.
Sirus and Jarod Cain, let me know what you think about sending your fleets to help Haspen's fleet annihilate the Romulans.
