THE BEGINNING

The small wasteland town of Clearwater is located in the north of the area known as Central Wasteland, its is known for how many trading caravans stop by here each month, however mercenary business has also increased recently..the reason? Let's just say more and more caravans "disappear" in the wasteland recently. The reason for this? Noone knows for exact, some say bandits, other say shadow creatures ripping off everyone's limbs...just a myth ofcourse. Our Heroes have gathered here for different reasons..maybe they search adventure, or they may have been exiled, some also just need the money that you can earn here. The Bar all of them are currently located in is pretty emtpy, only 4 other people are inside, one sits in the corner of it, many pieces of paper on the table infront of him which says: "MERCENARY RECRUITING", the other 3 seem to be locals, sitting at the bar and drinking "Rash", a local kind of alcohol which is cheaper to get than real water..the Barkeeper is currently busy with trying to fix a problem of the elctricity, the whole city is powered by more or less working solar panels on the roofs of 'em.

ooc: Before posting if you haven't done yet submit your inventory, also this is the LAST CHANCE to change anything at your character sheets. It is up to you what to do now, your characters do not yet know themselves, but they all somehow seem interested to earn some scraps or the like. You might sit on a table right now just waiting, or have just entered the bar searching for work.

((I'll drop cooking from my skills and put the point into medical treatment. It's for the best that the person who can't smell things doesn't cook for everyone.))

Guy Welke stood up from his stool, his heavy dirty brown leather jacket dragged across the bar stool as he moved. He walked up to the table in the corner of the room. He stared at the recruiters sitting at the table with his headband nearly covering his brown eyes. His voice was calm, but dry, "I'll sign up. I could use the scraps."

((SMALL IMPORTANT THING: I forgot to add that in ranged combat you ofcourse dont attack and parry, but simply attack and see if you hit, modifiers here are mainly things such as cover etc., also: In Combat please DESCRIBE your attacks precisely, if you just write: "He charges at his enemy with a knife" its hard for me to actually make something out of that, if you take cover, write it, if you attack a special body piece of your enemy, describe it so I know whats up.))

Reshi moved through the streets swiftly, stopping his hand from going to the pockets of the several people he crossed. The movement had become an instinct over the last couple years as it was the only way he could ever get the money to get food or water. However, about a year ago, he stole around 500 scraps from a rich merchant. He barely had time to figure out that he had gotten so many scraps when said merchant sent a meaty fist towards his stomach. By that point he had to either run or fight until the merchant's guards came and put a bullet in his head. So he ran until he came to the city of Clearwater where he used the 500 scraps he had to buy supplies and items and the rest of the scraps he had before he left for more food. By now he only had several days worth of rations left and his pick pocketing skills were rusty.

He eventually came to the Clearwater bar, one of the only places he could get a drink or work. Surveying the area once he was inside, he spotted a man in the corner with another man in a leather jacket talking to him. He had heard about a mercenary recruiter when he went through the streets. Weaving his way through the empty tables in the bar he went up beside the man in the jacket and nodded to the recruiter. "Hello mate, I heard that you were hiring? Whatever it is I'm in. Getting scraps is rather hard without settling down in this town, eh?" He said, flashing a smile.

The recruiter at the table of the bar, he was a rather old man, for wasteland standars, probably in his early fifties, beneath him stood a double-barreled sawn-off shotgun and he overall didn't look that friendly at all. As Guy moved up to him he raises his head, the leather coat he was wearing made a quiet sound on the floor as he did so. "So you want to work for the company, eh..?" He looks at him closely before making another question. "What kind of work are you interested in? And even more, what are you good at? We escort caravans, we drive out raiders, we do investigations or water collecting, I can offer all kind of work." He noticed the other man coming straight at the table, to him he seemed...wrong. Especially after the smile he gave to him after asking for work, he chuckled slightly before answering. "Well, this is not the place to apply for the playground but...yeah, we are hiring. You can go for one job at a time or sign a one month contract. During each of our missions a half litre of water and basic food is supplied each day, payment is based on how long you work for us and what job it is."

The man crossed his arms, the leather sleeves quietly crinkled as he did. "I used to drive out raiders from the water supplies up by Flat Top. It got me good at throwing knives, but I ain't bad in close-quarters." He uncrossed his arms and placed a hand on the table, leaning in as he did. "I don't care what kind of work you have to give, but I'm getting low on scraps. Give me a one-time job. If I like it I'll stick around for more, but I ain't signing a contract without knowin' what I'm gettin' into." He took his hand off the table and waited for the man's reply.

Zack spoke up not long after the fellow, Guy was it?, finished talking, "I did mechanical works back in my hometown, whenever a one of our mining machines broke down I usually fixed it back up to running shape. I also have some slight combat experience from fending off thieves, and the rare mutant beastie from the Wastes."

The man behind the recruiting table scratched his bald head before he started talking again. "Alright..so it is then. I have a mission to offer for you, one of our water supplies has recently been...not as full as I should. We do not know what it is, but you are supposed to stop it from doing so. I'll give everyone of you...ehh..75 Scraps for the job, including a half litre of water per day and stuff to eat..." He looks at you a brief time before continuing. "It is too late to leave now, you shall leave tomorrow evening, meet me here, I'll be giving you a map, if any more people show up searching for something I'll send them with 'ye."

Guy adjusted his dark grey headband back a bit to keep it out of his eyes. "So basically you want us to look into it and kill whatever is taking the water?" Guy took out a throwing knife from inside his leather jacket and started tossing it a foot into the air and catching it by the handle as it fell, almost as if it was done by habit. "It doesn't sound like a half bad job. I'll be back tomorrow evening, just have the food and water ready with the map." He went back to his seat, and put the knife back into the sheath.
