Journal of Zasit Cudistushat

Granite 1st-

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Through careful observation and some math regarding our journey here I have finally managed to come to the conclusion that it would be the first of Granite .

More importantly however I have begun my role as the "Overseer of NorthWall" or basically the one Dwarf responsible for not letting this whole mess fall apart into chaos and fire (Although magma may be possible). My first decision as overseer? Host a meeting, explain this whole mess and find out where we stand on the supplies department, I know there is probably a list around here somewhere if we can just find it. Maybe they left it with one of the other Dwarves?

"Alright well lets get this kick started, I'm Zasit Cudistushat, not Urist Cudistushat. That's right, I'm not the legendary metal smith, rather, a simple mechanic. I am apart of a giant mix up that could be the death of us all." I laid it out bluntly, however it was the truth and that's probably for the best at this point. "Now then, does anyone here have a list of supplies that we where gi-"

At this point the only male within this whole expedition spoke up, an odd looking gentlemen to say the least, with a very prominent nose, gaped teeth and a frail build. His whole exterior gave off that of something along the lines of a soap maker or the like, yet his next words seemed to convince me otherwise.

"Your not Urist? The man I, Corai, SPENT MY LIFE modeling myself after? I am a Black smith, I made sure I was assigned here so I could work side by side with Urist." His concerned and disappointed look filled his face and seemed to extend out to all the other Dwarves present at the meeting.

"Sadly, I am not. However, I'll be damned if I let us freeze here in these fields. Any miners present?"

Two Dwarves raised their hands.

"Go carve into the landscape over there and dig me out a food stockpile."

At this point the meeting concluded, I drew up some basic notes about everyone I met at the meeting, including myself for documentation purposes and put them here in my journal:

Zasit, Mechanic

Corai Rigothzon, Black Smith
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Likot Tomemsazir, Chef and Brewer
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Meng Arekingiz, Miner
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Sakzul Itebmorul, Planter
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Sphala Morulrul, Mason, Mechanic and Achitect
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Thob Zasiden, Miner
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Following that I begun to chop down some trees as it appeared we didn't have anyone who really knew how, not like I did either but hey, it's a start.

-----

Alright I'll start up a list of people wanting to be dwarfed. This also should start to pick up pace now that the "Intro" is out of the way.

cast the entire wall out of obsidian. Do it layer by layer so you can engrave even the inside tiles of it.  By that I mean, if its 8 tiles thick, cast the the outer layer, engrave it, then the next layer, engrave it, and so on 8 times.  With multi-z-level designations, wouldn't be that terrible.  Except for the whole 150 z levels tall of casting 8 times over.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

Journal of Zasit Cudistushat

Granite 3rd- After two days of digging, wood chopping and sleeping underneath the night sky Sphala Morulrul, my fellow mechanic, approached me with a piece of torn up paper in her hand. Her face ecstatic with the news she was about to bring me. She had somehow managed to find a list of the supplies we where given underneath a barrel, the paper itself was torn into several pieces however through the use of spit and some sort of sticky substance (Still kind of scared as to what this is) she managed to sew it together the best she could.

Urist Cudistushat's Material list-
2 Copper Picks
Iron Anvil
20 Cases of Dwarven Beer
20 Cases of Dwarven Wine
20 Cases of Dwarven Ale
10 Plump Helmet Spawn
4 Pig tail seeds
4 Cave wheat seeds
4 Sweet pod seeds
4 Rock nuts
4 Dimple Cup spawn
52 prepared reindeer lung
15 cave fish
15 plump helmets
4 pig tail fiber thread
4 pig tail fiber cloth
A singular pig tail fiber bag
2 pig tail fiber ropes
2 alder buckets
1 alder splint
1 alder crutch
1 palm training axe
40 Cases of Dwarven Rum
30 pieces of Bituminous coal
4 Fully grown dogs (2 male, 2 female)
1 Male cat
6 Turkey hens

"Boss! What do you want me to do next?!" She stood waiting for more work her face still excited with the news she had brought. Truth be told all her life she had never really been able to please orders from her superiors due to her terrible memory and poor social abilities, however right now she was in a good mood and that seemed to trump any social problems.

So there I stood, staring at my worker with my one of my hands scratching my chin and the other holding onto the axe that was still embedded within the tree to the left of me.

"Nothing?"

Her face went flush with disappointment and she slowly walked away to go back to the wagon and sit.

Granite 8th-

I'll be damned if our miners weren't some of the best in the whole kingdom! Within just 7 days they managed to excavate an extremely large food storage areas in the soil beneath us. Thob, whom now wants me to address her as "StrangeMood" for whatever reason reported to me early this morning explaining the great news and asking for her and Meng's next order. In a state of extreme shock and happiness I ordered her to begin mining out a couple more rooms on the same floor for a kitchen, dining hall, still and a farm. With a quick smile she was off again, pointing down the stairs to Meng.

With the great news in mind I returned to the wagon where 4 more Dwarves stood and sat in boredom.

"Sphala! Got a job you for finally."

In a quick moment she stood up, knocking over the bucket she was sitting on by accident.

"Get everyone here to start hauling all this booze and food down into the room StrangeMood and Meng did so great on."

I the picked up my axe and walked back over to the tree I was at before Thob found me.

Granite 15th-

Great news!

In just 7 days StrangeMood and Meng completed the Farm, Still, Kitchen and Dining Hall rooms and they look just fantastic. For their next order I told them to begin working on another floor down and create a bunch of rooms for workshops and the like. With haste they ran for another empty room I told them to begin working on about 2 days ago and stared on a staircase to head on down.

I told Shanikqua our 'Brewmaster' to begin construction of a Kitchen and Still with all the wood I've been chopping down. As well as telling Sakzul to begin tilling out the soil in one of the larger rooms and start planting Plump Helmets year round.

Pray to Armok, but we might just survive the year.
