As it is current succession games work great. They're fun to play, and tend to result in fascinating stories to read. However, turns can last very long times, one may have to wait weeks, possibly months depending on the line of turns. Additionally the majority of succession games all function the same way.
I aim to tackle that issue, creating a type of succession game that is faster paced, allowing many people to have multiple turns within reasonable amounts of time. While still promoting interesting stories and allowing everyone to have fun. Additionally I aim to provide some new ways to play the game.

Proposition(s):
(the following idea(s) may be things people do already, I'm unsure. However they seem uncommon enough that I assume my idea(s) is/are original)
- My first idea for a new type of succession game is that each turn lasts ~24 hours. During that time one may exceed one year of game time however, it is most probable that one will not. Within the 24 hour turn period a new save must be submitted.
Stories about your save would be expected about 24 hours after submitting the save. This Implies that you give the person previous to yourself a chance to write a story/draw some pictures to reflect their turn. In the case that the person previous to you has already finished some sort of story/reflection you may post your own whenever convenient within 24 hours after posting the new save. If one does not wish to do any story/pictures one would need to say so in a post so that the next person in line knows they do not need to wait to post a story.
If it has been 24 hours since the last save was posted and there is no story/pictures one may submit their own.
- My second idea plays by the rules declared above. However migration waves would be turned off, population maxed at 7, and pregnancy also turned off. The idea is to survive as long as possible
One dwarf per player, once your dwarf dies, you are done.
-No purposeful killing of other dwarves.

Using that new set of rules I feel that many more turns could pass resulting in more people involved in the fortress. The second option also seems to add a new challenge to how a fortress would need to function and survive.
If you have anything to add on those ideas or have any ideas of your own, please share so that the community might have some more variety in how the succession games work.

If you are interested in playing one of these styles let me know and if enough people seem interested I will start a succession game in a new thread.
