I talked myself into starting a new game and colonizing haunted terrain.

I am so intimidated by the prospect what is coming I dare not press the embark button...I love this game :P

Recently tried this, and crossbows work very well. I got so overconfident, that I didn't even embark with any crossbows or bolts. I decided I would make my crossbows on the spot, to save embark points.

And it was working.

But then the unkindness of ravens descended.

To their credit, the marksdwarves killed them all (repeatedly), and most of them were buried, but I happened to notice that one of the marksdwarf's was missing his entirety of his back teeth... Which were pulled out by the ravens.

They just invented Dwarf dentistry.
