Zombies set up camp over my fortress and have resupplied themselves with fresh corpses/Necromancers every few seasons. That being said I feel the only sensible solution is to make a stairway to the surface outside my walls... and then tunnel past the magma sea.. It's the only logical thing to do.

If you can lock all the fun on the surface for all eternity with the elves, your just about set =). Make sure flying creatures can't circumvent your surface fortifications, and good luck =)

Oh ya, forgot to mention but the 'undead' armies of the surface have defeated all the fun below before =P
