If we drop more then a few drops in anything that passes by or is there will easily notice it (especially if it fills the entire area up), without any real gain.

Can we move our liquid crystal? Roll it along the ground and such? cause if we can, we should use it to explore to the right.

Yes, line of sight is exactly what we want it for. We may also be able to grow from it if it is connected to something which produces energy...
I would like to exude liquid from the most obvious sign of our presence, and not draw attention to our extremities. But dropping it from our right-most edge would also be viable. I would hope that we produce enough to be connected to our mass either way, but lets drop it from the right-most edge, it may well be more efficient.

P.S.
If we really want to give the G.M. a headache, we should attempt to grow in more than two dimensions...

I don't think he'll allow us to do that (I think he'll have a headache just by imagining the work it'll make him do)

I dont get headaches from work.

I would get headaches from trying to come up with a way to show you what is going on. 3d images of the inside of the ground are notoriously hard to do, due to humans not being able to see through things that are not transparent. Otherwise I would totally go for it and do updates once an year.

On the topic of updates, daddy needs some votes.

Beyond "hey it would be cool" is there any reason to fill the cavern with liquid?

Liquid crystal gives us no storage and no generation, it is literally just a waste of energy beyond presumably granting line of sight.

What do you mean, "beyond"?

Are we supposed to do stuff for reasons OTHER than "hey that sounds cool"?

Shit, I totally missed that memo. Why does nobody tell me these things?  :-X
