It sounds more like a speciality than a unique feature to me...
B is a specialised crystal form, not a "speciality".
Now, it may just be me, but I interpret that to be crystal, in a form, that is specialised. I think that the difference in opinion here is whether the speciality should be limited to a specific type of crystal, or the whole crystal entity. I do not see a clear conclusion either way although it bears mentioning that the noun there is "form" and a form can be adopted by a variety of substances...

Gen 3 Cycle 1

-8 LowQ

After coming out of the metamorphosis, you make inventory of all matter under your control. You seem to have lost 8 Low-Quality Crystals. Further investigation reveals varying levels of instability in nearly all assimilated matter and crystals. By comparing the strength of the instability, you have managed to pinpoint the locations of whatever is causing it. The instability does not interfere with energy generation or storage, but does with thought processes and assimilation. Any thought processing coming from near the disturbances have to be filtered for noise.

Your long range senses have also detected a new type of matter.

New Crystal Forms available. Consult below.
New feature gained: Increased connectivity - Can communicate with crystals not within physical contact. Energy is not shared.

Energy:
Energy Generation: 54770/cycle
Energy Storage: 0/107040
Metamorphosis Requirement: Unknown

Crystals:
Low-Quality Crystals: 108 [13500/cycle 54000 storage]
Medium-Quality Crystals: 25 [7500/cycle 37500 storage]
Assimilated Low-Density matter: 538 [538][0][0][0] [13450/cycle 5380 storage]
Assimilated Medium-Density matter: 508 [500][8] [20320/cycle 10160 storage]

Assimilate ALL the high integrity! Or at least as much as we can. away from the blue stuff, obviously.

Start assimilating your way into the Extremely High Integrity Matter. Also, make more crystals in that cavern.

I think you've made an error, should the following be possible: Fill the cavern with liquid crystal. Should be 46200 energy and nothing else. :p

maybe not. But do drip it all over the place to reveal the empty space.

Grrrr, stupid ninjas...

Yes, pour some liquid crystal onto the bottom of the caver, it is probably highly viscous and won't spread as much as I would like, but generate 1000 liquid crystal from the medium crystal cluster at the bottom of the column.
At the left-most point of our current growth, assimilate down until it hits something different.
Continue to encircle the extremely high-density matter.

Don't make the liquid crystal from the column, make it from the roof, so as to reveal all the hidden space.

I'm with Armok there (again). Fill the cavern with liquid crystals generated from the top!

And can we "compress" a liquid crystal into a normal, solid one? I mean, normally it takes an empty space to put a crystal. Can we put one in a liquid-occupied one?

And assimilate HE, obviously.

Don't fill the cavern, just make enough to reveal it.

Filling the cavern with liquid doesn't get us anything though, waste of energy. Just drip enough to reveal the unknown area.

Why did I not foresee this?

Also, dripping would work.

Beyond "hey it would be cool" is there any reason to fill the cavern with liquid?

Liquid crystal gives us no storage and no generation, it is literally just a waste of energy beyond presumably granting line of sight.
