Anyway, my preferences for (b) and (c) are as follows.

(B): Crystal that uses energy every cycle to hide us, somehow. Perhaps changing colour to copy that of matter in contact.
(C): Stealthy defense, somehow. Maybe we start emitting high quantities of radiation. It's not like radioactive rocks are particularly special, though being mistaken for uranium or something probably wouldn't be helpful.

On that note - can we, I don't know, swing tendrils of crystal around to sharpen them? Can we make pointed crystals?

The sonar is just a bullshit explanation of the fact that you can see the contents of a sector, as long as you have previously seen every type of matter that the sector contains. You just need to be present in the sector, with no further requirements.

And your crystals are already as pointy as they get. Which on a scale of "not very pointy" to "pretty damn pointy" is "so pointy you could stab a dude".

If we can't have that, we should get the ability to maintain our consciousness without a physical connection between our crystals. so if we get broken, it won't inconvenience us so much.

The crystals could be considered the height of storage. Getting more storage will either have a high cost or high requirements, and would actually go under the purview of HighQ Crystals anyway.

And you arent really thinking between cycles, so speed wouldnt really give you anything. Its either automatic, or at the moment of the cycle, unless you go into tick-mode. There is no third option(besides giving specifics to automatic).

What he said was that the storage bulb wouldn't store more than the crystals we already have. It would still work as a defensive structure.
