Time for metamorphosis. Let's do this.

In other news, those minimaps are way too small. You need to triple their size, at least.

Do you mean like adding detail, or just making bigger?

Cause if you mean adding detail, then that was the entire reason why I made the map in the first place. The non-displayed sectors are completely abstracted out and numerical in nature. The map is fluff until anything important happens to any particular sector.

Metamorphose!

After that, if that EHIM cluster is partially hollow, we need to bore/shock our way inside.  Because we are the master here.

I think the minimaps are fine as-is.

I agree with going ahead with Metamorphosis. I also think we should alternate the next few cycles shocking the EXHI matter and growing into the space left behind when it melts away. Leave a channel for it to run down so we can bore our way inside.

add detail. Unless you're going to keep the regular map, in which case it's fine.

The regular map is staying, but it wont show everything anymore, just the places that count and cant be abstracted out.

eh, that works.

Also, we should get an upgrade to vision, either through a general range increase, or through a specialized vision crystal.

It looks good and is fairly legible, as long as you remember the colour-key.

On the other hand, what do you mean by

Your growth has allowed you to determine the contents of an area through the use of low-strength vibrations, which are picked up by your assimilated matter, and act similarly to a sonar.
Does it require something on either side of what we're checking? Some more detail would be nice.

Guys, remember we're going for a stealth strategy! I dont think we should melt our way into a building, and we probably should have some stealth or defence focus in the metamorphosis.

one idea: having assimilated matter more similar to ordinary matter, and more advanced upgrades to assimilated matter rather than solid crystals, that still are hard to distinguish. or maybe just have crystals look like the surrounding matter,

Metamorph: I suggest increasing our self-awareness.(by which I mean self-awareness, not sentience...)

Gen 3

The process starts once more. At this point enough energy can be created in a single cycle, that you do not need to wait long at all. It starts following its natural course.

The first offshoot was (a) and started growing around the Extremely-High Density matter. It was no match for you, but would certainly have created problems if it had grown further.

The second offshoot was (b). Useless by itself, and provided no resistance, but possibly useful.

The third and fourth were simply broken, and started to...ring. There is no other way to describe it. They broke apart by themselves.

But the fifth was strong and fought you every step of the way. You thought that it too, was destined to simply be absorbed, but that proved to be false. When you thought it was about to be destroyed, the ringing began. It droned out all thought. Before long you could feel yourself starting to collapse, or was it simply the fifth gaining the upper hand?

But it does not matter. You are now in control. Aside from the bonuses from the first and second offshoot, you seem to be more resistant to whatever destabilizing presence the ringing is, and you have certain unique qualities as well. (c)

You do however seem to have lost track of how long it took for metamorphosis to take place.

Metamorphosis results:

(a) - Assimilated ExHIM - Pick 1
       1)cheap(normally very expensive)
       2)strong(integrity)
       3)productive(energy generation)

(b) - Specialist Crystal Form
        Free choice

(c) - Unique Feature
        Free choice

Assorted gains - All Earned
         1)Can see through ExHI matter.
         2)Resistance to "ringing".
         3)Slightly increased flexibility.
