Current Game Rankings from this sale at Amazon. Again, my recommendations are King's Bounty and Space Rangers 2 Reboot. Others have recommended Penumbra.
1.
King's Bounty: Platinum Edition (The Legend & Armored Princess & Crossworlds) - An adventure game with tactical turn-based battles and role-playing elements. You get two full games plus an expansion. It's fun.
2.
Men of War: Assault Squad - Game of the Year Edition - A WWII shooter with 5 DLCs.
3.
Penumbra Collection (Penumbra Overture, Penumbra Black Plague, Penumbra Requiem) - Atmospheric survival-horror with a focus on physics and puzzles. The devs of this later went on to make Amnesia: The Dark Descent. (thanks, fenrif).
4.
UFO Trilogy (UFO: Aftermath, UFO: Aftershock and UFO: Afterlight) - Think X-Com updated. You get three games. I haven't played this one but am likely to pick it up from this sale.
5.
Space Rangers 2 Reboot (Starforce Free) - A top-down space exploration/combat/upgrade your ship/rpg game. And when you do some of the planet-side missions it turns into a text-based or rts or some other sort of game. If you don't like some of the missions (as I don't like RTS), then it lets you say you don't want to be asked for those types of mission. It is a fun game that has taken a lot of my time.
6.
Cryostasis - First-person shooter/survival-horror.
7.
Men of War - WWII Shooter.
8.
Necrovision - This on has a free demo to try out. It's a WWI shooter with vampires and demons.
9.
Planet Alcatraz - "Planet Alcatraz is a classical RPG that is based on a specially developed system. In a general sense Planet Alcatraz can be portrayed as a non-linear adventure with lots of shooting. The action takes place on prison planet Alcatraz. Its inhabitants are inveterate criminals that were banished there for the life term for their terrible crimes." Looks somewhat like classic Jagged Alliance.
10.
Dawn of Magic 2 - Appears to be an interesting action rpg that I have never heard of despite coming out in 2009.
11.
Death to Spies: Moment of Truth12. Men of War Assault Squad - No reason to buy this one as the #2 game is an update of this.
13.
NecroVisioN Lost Company - Another FPS with monsters & zombies. This time you are a German.
14.
Star Wolves 3 - Civil War A hybrid RTS/RPG. I was interested in this one, but the review I read said it would be good to use in lectures on how not to make games. Has anyone tried this one out?
15.
A Farewell to Dragons - This one sounds like a winner and will probably get my money. Still debating. I like to overanalyze spending my $5 or $10. It's an action/rpg and this
review made me want to buy it. "At first look, Gameplay seems similar to Dungeon Siege (and it's cousins). But the play is actually deeper. The rule system is actually more similar to fallout, with skills and perks (every 4 levels!). And the party mechanics are more like Baldurs Gate 2 (compete with inter-party bickering) There is a main quest, but within the main quest, there are plenty of little quests, that actually matter (and of course, there are some that are fluff)."
