Embarking on an area with a road?

Will this affect the embark in any way? Any special things come because of it. Its just a fire clay road running straight through my embark

Some roads, produced earlier during world gen, are actually paved. You can harvest a large number of blocks from them and use them for your own projects. Dirt roads are useless, and IIRC they eventually disappear under grass and other vegetation unless you actively maintain them. I suppose you could use a fire clay road as a clay source without having to clear any grass away, but really it's better just to use a clay wall.

In addition to what NecroRebel said, Roads make it easier to ensure that your trade depot has access to the map edge without periodically clearing trees.
