Giant Unicorns
« on: April 12, 2012, 03:38:11 pm »

So I try creating as savage and good regions to generate some unicorn goodness, but I can't seem to find any. Anyone have a good world to share?

Also, for another fort I want an evil region with a volcano but that also seems to fail despite my close managing of the perimeters. Halp plx?

Unicorns only live in joyous wilds.

Giant creatures live only in savage biomes.

The two are mutually exclusive, so no giant unicorns, unless you fiddle with them one way or another.

Doing so is not recommended. The one horned terror is not to be trifled with.

What? joyous wilds and savage biomes are mutually inclusive. Not to mention the fact that unicorns will show up in any good biome.

Joyous Wilds are savage, there just isn't a giant unicorn.

1) Actually Unicorns can be found in any Good forest or shrubland region. As already stated Joyous Wilds are High Savagery Good regions. Good/Evil and Savage/Tame are two independent variables.

2) There are no Giant Unicorn variant creatures but that could easily be fixed, though that's more a topic for the modding sub-forum.

You sure? Wait, that's right, its a 2 axis alignment.

Savage/mundane, good/evil

Still, I have never seen nor heard of giant unicorns. The damage would be unspeakable.... however, keeping them might be impossible.  Unicorns are grazers with a high graze value. Giant versions?

I don't know.  Science is needed.

Giant Unicorns, unable to sustain themselves on grass alone, have developed an insatiable hunger for dwarven flesh, not unlike the Mares of Diomedes.

Science has been done in triplicate. It's actually low grazer values that are an issue. But also long as you pen up wild ones, let them breed and only them tame right before you butcher them then the grazer tag isn't an issue.
