Issue with my hunter, who is not hunting anymore.
« on: April 12, 2012, 03:14:19 pm »

Hello Internet,

My hunter suddenly stopped hunting, he killed maybe two creatures and went to no job. I resetted his job but without success. Maybe it has to do with the grates that I placed above the butcher and kitchen? I have no clue, he has no ammo but I made plenty of bolts in the stockpile which are accessible.

Sincerely,

OxTox

Did you mess wiith the military screen?  Are Hunter's allocated arrows there?

There's a bug where a dwarf cannot effectively be a miner, hunter, or woodcutter AND an active member of the military at the same time.  If you want, for example, to put a hunter into the military, turn off his Hunting labor first.

If that is not the problem, make sure the hunter's Hunting labor is turned on.

Also make sure that an animal that can be hunted is in the zone at the present time.

Also, make sure that any huntable animals are not on the far side of a river (without a bridge).

Actually, you can go to the first post and change its title to solved, or something else informative. That way people may add to it, correct each other, or even find solution for their issue without having to make a whole new topic.

We couldn't close the topic anyways. The only person who has the ability to close a topic (other then Toady/Threetoe) is the OP himself, who scrolls to the bottom of the screen and clicks on the button that says "Lock Topic" (or something like that).

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!
