Not many of my friends know DF, I think maybe 2 max, the ones I just tell them random stories/do a live commentary of my game down Skype :p    One of them doesn't really take an interest, the other likes it and he wants me to show him how to play because he cba with the tutorials on youtube  ::)

I can't possibly imagine my wife playing DF. She's such a sensible person. (She isn't given to flights of fancy.)
Also, she doesn't like complicated games. I guess opposites attract each other...  :P

"A kitten powered shotgun?"

"Nah, between the zombies and general mayhem the cats didn't really breed enough to start up any kind of real kitten-bullet industry."

"...No.... See.... I meant a shotgun, with a kitten working the mechanisms."

"...Oh."

Now that's just silly - animal movement is random, so you'd never get a consistent firing rate.  But if you load a minecart with x number of kittens each time, you'll get regular results in terms of damage inflicted.  Far more sensible, if you ask me.

Kittens are more suited to rifles, anyway.

Listen up: making a thing a ‼thing‼ doesn't make it more awesome or extreme.  It simply indicates the thing is on fire.  Get it right or look like a silly poser.

It's useful to keep a ‼torch‼ handy.

Personally, I like [DF] because after climbing the damned learning cliff, I'm too elitist to consider not liking it.

Mom: how do you even play this
