I've gotten one over 22z's. And if I recall correctly... possibly 35+ z's but that could be my imagination. I can hardly remember if it was a dream.

all i want is to damn a river with a giant waterfall, build my trade depot in it, and wash away all those elves...and humans...and other dwarves.

I'm still looking for that one world with an underground waterfall extending through the three cavern layers...

You'll have to make it yourself (Though I have had waterfalls that go through caverns... via caverns glitching onto the surface).

Your fortress shall fall to the double-edged sword of a natural waterfall. The dwarves shall find themselves uncontrollably drawn towards the summit of this great, flowing body of water. Its effervescent scents and refreshing coolness will enchant them, using its siren song of flashing reflections and rippling light, commanding them to reach out to touch it. They will lose their grip on the soft, comfortable soil lining the edge of the waterfalls source, and they will fall. tumbling through the beautiful mists to their ultimate doom at the rivers floor.

Oh, but congrats on finding one!

Gen a world without happy fun stuff, embark on a volcano and a river, and divert the river into it.

Do you get higher falls if you reduce the time eroding mountains? Think there was such a setting somewhere.

If you're into large water features, check this map out. There's a stream falling 30 tiles down a sheer cliff, into an enormous river.
