Figured this may interest some of the folks around here. there is a 2 phase open source contest being run by the Free Software Foundation and OpenGameArt.org.

The first phase is to create and expand on a library of pixel art under the CC-BY-SA and GPL licenses.

The second phase is to create games that use that library of art that run on free and open systems.
