Our Home.. It's Burning.. (and other adventures with magma!)
« on: April 11, 2012, 04:30:59 am »

Apparently, a puppy slipped in to the volcano which created some magma mist, which then started a bushfire, which then burned 70% of the whole population of my fort. Aren't we having !!FUN!! yet? ;)

clearly, sacrificing a puppy to armok did not please him. It should be an elf.

On the plus side, now all the plants are dead.

You can weaponize this to destroy sieges. Moving goblins (and dwarves) won't be strongly effected because they're not in the fire that long, but anything sitting still is BBQ.

HAH! Apparently Armok was pleased!

Soon after the disaster a Rhinowerebeast and a large goblin ambush attacked the fortress simultaneously, something which I was sure to end the fortress. But alas, Armok was on my side and when a poor wild boar was kicked by the werebeast in to the depts, Armok blessed the fort by cleansing all the taint from the surface.

Damm I was giggling and laughing when this happened. Anybody else have some great magma stories?

It's all fun and games until somebody falls in.

After that, it's ‼Fun‼ and -«☼games☼»-.

Certainly you could argue that DF is a lot like The Sims, only... you know... with more vomit and decapitation.
If you launch a wooden mine cart towards the ocean at a sufficient speed, you can have your entire dwarf sail away in an ark.

How the hell did a puppy falling in a volcano can create magma mist ??? You must have experienced a cave-in.

Why didn't you strike the earth to escape? Fire doesn't go down stairs.

Well now, didn't know that, could have saved the folk by ordering them to a burrow downstairs..

That being said, what too much fun watching the carnage ;)
