Obama has said he's against it, apparently. This, of course, doesn't mean much. On paper he's against state-sponsored torture and killing american citizens, too. But still, sounds like he might veto it.

No, they slapped a 'Scary Anonymous' label on it, and mentioned terrorists as a side-dish.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Oh please. "Obama" is synonymous with "spineless" by this point.

Zero Obfuscation of Mobile Bytes In Entertainment

Could probably be anything they want it to become as long as it involves mobile distribution of entertainment media; and of course it would have to have the most obfuscated language possible to make it sound legit >.> lolz

Digging's a lot like surgery, see -- you grab the sharp thing and then drive the sharp end of the sharp thing in as hard as you can and then stuff goes flying and then stuff falls out and then there's a big hole and you're done. I kinda wish there was more screaming, but rocks don't hurt so I guess it can't be helped.

I'd vote yes on ZOMBIE, no matter what was being proposed.

CISPA just passed in the House by a margin of about a hundred votes.

....the House of Representatives. No one calls the Senate a house unless they're talking about Congress as a whole.

What a coincidence! I just recently started no longer viewing the House of Representatives as a valid governmental body.

The Senate is (supposedly, and constitutionally) the smarter of the two, since they aren't endlessly recampaigning for office every other year. But politics has shown how absolutely stupidifying it causes everything near it to be, so it'll probably be more stupid votes and no restrictions.

There's more than two parties!

I've been saying this for years, the only way to throw away your vote is to vote for someone who isn't going to work for it. Democrats know that they don't need to actively do anything- they just need to be less terrible than the republicans. Republicans know that as long as they say they want to kill gays, they will win the conservative vote.

Neither party even attempts to do constructive things, because that requires cooperation, and that is politically impossible. Anyone who cooperates with the other side is, due to the intensity of the rhetoric, immediately a baby-eating terrorist.

But third parties can scare them! If several independents got in the senate and in the house, we'd see more proactive action from both sides, and less acceptance of the extremist republicans, purely because both sides would see the independents as potentially threatening tiebreakers- loose cannons that must be replaced with controllable party members.
