CISPA is still alive and got a lot worse o_o
« on: April 10, 2012, 12:47:58 pm »

Now this one is called CISPA.  It's completely different!  Here's another article that goes into the bill in depth.  I'm at school so I can't read this in detail, but it looks like we have a slightly different SOPA, one that's meant to allow companies to spy on people's activities then report it to the government?

Amendment to Gouge Away Illegal Networking

...Nah, they've really been going downhill since PROTECT IP to be honest.  I mean, that one actually spelt something.  CISPA doesn't even have a distinctive sound like SOPA.

They should have named it PILLAS. Because no one can resist SOPA/PILLAS.

Towards thee I roll, thou all-conquering but undestroying net; to the last I grapple with thee; from congress' heart I stab at thee; for money's sake I spit my last breath at thee.

Sorry, but this is really getting silly now.

If I understand the problem correctly, we have a pending international treaty (ACTA) demanding that these things be made to ratify it, yes? I just want to know for how long they'll keep recrapping the same crap.

My guess is until they either pass them or they run out of silly acronyms (which doesn't to be anytime soon).

And this is really becoming insane stuff, they are showing the inteligence and the persistance of a horny bull, and I'm not sure how long the cow can hold out :/

Until the crap stops looking like fantastically horrible crap and just ends up looking like the regular crap we're used to.

Punch the ignorant ones in the face until we get more literate congresspeoples
So, who is supporting it this time, Lamar?
At this rate we really just need to dump everyone out of congress and re-elect it entirely.

Edit: goddamnit, look at all the cosponsors.
