I sometimes misread "Today" as "Toady". Is it a sign of something bad happening to me?

Yeah. You probably have 3 months to live. Say goodbye to your loved ones while you still can.

I thought that was the thing where your ears turn blue and then your toes start to feel tingly.

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

Not really that surprising, considering the only difference is the position of two letters.

People usually read the first and last lterrs of a word and then galnce through the ones in the midle to deretmine the word. In your mind, Toady probably has a higher rakning than Today so your brain auto-matches the T and Y as Toady, and you only realize it when you find that it doesn't fit in context. Sometimes when people say that a large proportion of the population are dyslexic, I wonder if people are dylexic by the nature of how they read.

I think you're vastly underestimating the seriousness of this situation.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

No, muxecoid, you are not in any stage of cancer, you are simply developing superpowers. It's normal, and you'll get over it in a thousand years or so.

On a more serious note, I'd go with Muz's explanation. I'm not a pyschologist. I don't know if he (or she) is either, but that explanation makes sense. :P

Do the handstand test.

Prop yourself up on your hands.

Did everything go black, or did you have trouble breathing?

It's pretty much as Muz said; we notice the first and last letters of each word and fill in the rest, hence why sentences that make no sense if read carefully can still appear normal to a superficial glance, extremely if the wards ale compromised of stellar ladders.
