My first Bay12 Mafia game. Play nice! :)

Lots of catching up to do! I'll see if I can sneak in a read and a post before bed, but no promises.

I take it, you know the basics of a forum Mafia game? The Rules and all?

Play nice! :)
Welcome to Bay12 Mafia. We can't necessarily play nice in this game as it is mostly 'guilty until proven innocent' in finding scum.

Define 'nice'?

But one thing hit me, why didn't anyone suspect, or state they suspected how GG rated them?
Tiruin: People didn't immediately answer this because you didn't actually aim it at anyone or even everyone, I think.  That, and it's a dumb question.  My answer: Maybe it had to do with the results fitting the explicit reasons for the ratings quite well, leaving a serious lack of reason to wonder?  I didn't see the list during the day when it was posted.  What on earth did you intend to get out of this question?
I aimed it at generally everyone, suggested by the word 'anyone'. I wanted to find out other people's viewpoints on how they viewed the list, and how they thought about it.

I believe so, yes. I played a lot of the Mafia SC2 map (Totally different, I know, less thinking and more leaning on power roles). No editing, no PMs, etc etc. Forgive me if I derp on the formatting once in a while, though.

And I mean 'nice' for very loose definitions of 'nice'. People here don't pull punches.  :o That's good, though! (I was going to put something witty here, but it's late. I finished reading the thread, I'll see if I can post my thoughts on my lunch break ~1 Central)

Tiruin:  Starting from way back on Friday here.  I added in that last sentence because it just seemed like an honest admission.  I was putting out info I had received and since I didn't know who did what, I couldn't say at that point which of the two players who visited GG was likely scum.  If GG *had* visited someone, then we could have looked at who that was and if they reported anything happening (or died).  That would have potentially provided evidence as to GG's alignment (you know, if he hadn't gone and died anyway).

Hm, I wonder how Shakerag got his targets then?
What?  Can you elaborate?

UI:  "Both are plausible, although Tiruin killing GG fails to explain why GG didn't perform an action."  Throwing out possibilities here, but why not consider that perhaps GG chose not to action that night because he felt his items were not particularly useful?

That update I was hoping to get out during lunch isn't going to happen, I'll put it once I'm off. Needless to say, it's full of wild accusations, paranoia, and half-baked logic: Get those flamethrowers and tin-foil hats ready!

Urist: I apologize if you've answered this already (my notes are somewhat shoddy atm), but why did you choose Ranger? Or did you random?

Shakerag: Because any item would be more useful than doing nothing, and I doubt GlyphGryph would fail to see that. Even a wand of cantrips could inspect scum, track a killer, protect a would-be victim, etc.

Hapah: I picked random.

Hapah: I picked random.

Thanks, Urist. Followup question:

Urist: What is your uncommon? Why did you decide to use the scroll as opposed to whatever your Uncommon is? (Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Randoms get better items)

Generally speaking, it's scummy to start asking people what roles (in a normal game) / items (here) they have. Nevertheless, I'll answer. I have a scroll of greater treasure. I used my enchant armor scroll N1 because I was hedging my bets - I didn't have much of a read on anyone and was too busy to reread. If I had been wrong about GlyphGryph, protecting scum would be less bad than giving them good stuff.

You did state you had two targets that targeted GG, yes? Kills go after inspections, judging by the tags set to every item mentioned.

Is it possible for another extension? In my timezone, it's Tuesday, ~1:40 am. Not wanting this day to end without information from those who have questions hanging on them.

Extend, if possible.

Hapah: Why are you item-fishing there? (Think of it like Role-fishing, as items seem to be like Night Actions.)

Three total (two more) extend requests are needed to extend today.  Day ends in ~9 hours otherwise.

He's one of the two with probable (as much as they can be, anyway) links to GG's death. If he randomed into Ranger, he should have an Uncommon. Glancing through those Uncommons, it seems like better than two-thirds (lunch is almost over so rather rushed, someone can pull the exact number if they have the time) are consumables with superior effects. In my opinion, Scroll of Enchant Armor seems like a rather weak choice compared to nearly any of the Uncommons, so I wanted to know if the other option was a junky Uncommon/Uncommon passive, or if Urist had some reason for not using a particular Uncommon consumable. That's the best I can word it with the time I have.

((You don't need to tell what exactly you're doing while posting. A forum Mafia game takes longer than usual to finish, and the addition of RL details won't help that much/at all.))

On topic: Hapah: Why do you think Enchant Armor (In Roguelike Mafia) seems like a weak choice? A kill resistance doesn't look bad for a Common item from where I see it.

Toaster:  When using a scroll of Scrying on someone, if that person is targeted by a kill the same night, would the person using that kill action show up?

Scroll of Scrying: You are told all players who either action or are actioned by your target

That means any action, including a mafiakill action.  Placement in order of operations doesn't matter, if that's your question.

why didn't anyone suspect, or state they suspected how GG rated them?
nobody specifically answered this.
I do believe that I answered this when I stated that it wasn't a suspicious thing and only a list of who GG thought was town.

MD why are you not scumhunting? Being an obvnoob isn't a free ticket for bandwaggoning and making barely sensible arguments. Who do you really suspect?

Same to you NF. You jump from one person to another, ignore the third, and only ask a question to the obvnoob. If you have suspicions on him (which you seem to have considering your comment about bussing), why aren't you voting for him?
