After a day of arguing, Mr. Dwarfinton is the one chosen to attempt the lock.

"So be it," he says as he walks to the door.  "As long as the chosen one is safe..."

He works at the lock for a few minutes, and seems to be making progress until a gear springs out and slices his throat.  He collapses and dies quickly.

As best you can tell, he was sent here as a Priest to watch over Jack A T, and ensure his good fortune.  To what ends, though, it appears not even he knew.

The group disperses for a break.  What will come next?

Mod: MrD's alignment was never revealed, only that he had a Brother in Jack. Was this intentional? (I've never played a game with Brothers before, so maybe it's standard)

Also, I am confident that Shakerag is town. I'll outline my reasoning later today.

Urist I is correct.  The wincon of the Brother is that the Brother wins if the player they are paired to wins.  The Brother is not told the alignment/wincon of the target.

Urist and Toaster: Thanks! I looked at the Brothers entry on the mafiascum interactive flash thing, and it has it framed as one scum, one town, and if one of them dies the other commits suicide. I've never seen them before, so that's all I had to go on.

So, just to make sure I've got it right: Brothers have whatever their normal wincon is (town or scum), and an additional wincon that they win if their brother wins? Or am I still confused?

This is correct.

What you saw on the wiki was Sibling/Lovers, which is different.

It's.....hrm. Oh. Ohhhh. I think I see now. The aren't necessarily two people with the Brother role: The Brother (MrD) has the wincon of Jack, but Jack isn't necessarily a Brother to MrD. Jack could be town, or scum, or anything else! Is that right?

EDIT: And I thought there was one entry for Brother and one for Siblings/Lovers in the MafiaScum flash, but if I'm understanding it correctly now it's moot.
