We did once. Good times. Failed because there is only up to too much to do an people got bored.

Maybe this time everyone can make a small businnes creating just one piece of the final product at the most ridicolous efficiency possible and we move stuff around trough standing requests on the b2b market?

Then we make a shell company with just retails which shares dividend with everyone involved.

I've made a post on the game forums requesting for commuting of sentences for those who are in jail.

I'm sitting on about $6T in cash on the CapOnline server and would be willing to participate in another B12 company.

I've decided to get into this. Any tips, advice, or general knowledge I should know about?

I honestly wouldn't say to take advice from me, tried this game out but just couldn't get myself rich no matter what I did so I gave up.  I was pretty stupid before and wanted to make complicated things like airplanes and cars, yeah as a fledgling company don't do that.  Check out the market demand for an item and design your company accordingly, less demand is better (I recommend 5-10%, but always remember to check the requirements needed to make an item.)

I'm thinking about running with my top two starting techs: Bauxite and Linen thread. Bauxite is N/A, but Linen is 1.03%.

What server are you playing on? The Test server or the normal one?

Definitely check out the market demand met for various products.

I've had good luck in the past with Appliances and Sporting Goods. Most food items are crap profitability. Never tried to sell threads at retail, always just used them to make clothing and sold that. Clothing, however, has one of the largest players in the game saturating the market (Stormhammer) on one of the servers.

Two things I wish I knew from the beginning:

1. Focus on one type of industry/store per company.

2. Build two stores of the same type so you can upgrade one while the other remains open selling items. Upgrade them alternately.

After a couple of false starts I think I finally got a company running half-decently. A pair of 500m^2 plantations and a pair of 500m^2 farmer's market to go with it, selling random stuff. Got to 43M net worth in two days, allowing me to take out a 10M loan to mess around with. Game's been pretty fun so far.

A question though, the formula provided concerning item quality and selling items is given as (from the Q&A thread in the newbie section of their forums):
Code: [Select]
max( (1 + 0.02 * (your quality - world quality)), 0.3 ).
So the way I understand it is that the quality level of your items don't matter until they're within at least 35 levels of the world quality, since the minimum of 0.3 price modifier will take precedence. I'm currently researching Q25 for pepper, the average quality for pepper is Q60. 60-35 = 25, so each extra level of research after this should give me a 2% increase in revenue. But the research time has been increasing at a pretty crazy rate after around Q23 or so, so I was wondering if someone further into the game could comment on whether investing in research is a good idea or not.

If I'm making an item that uses silk thread, should I make silk thread myself from silk that I harvest from my livestock or should I buy it off the market?

Controlling the whole  production chain is almost always cheaper, as long as your factories are big enough to get a decent economy of scale bonus

You need to be really big if you want to produce it. Basically, always start a chain from the primary stuff (silk from livestock in this case), once it becomes profitable, step up to next level (silk thread), and so on.

I'm still trying to find my niche. I was going to follow my initial research, but I dont think that's going to work well. Based of the EoS-Pedia, one of the lowest met demand products is the grape sorbet. Its a simple-ish supply chain, so I think that I could run it out of my company entirely.

I also have some really good quality, 49, bauxite that I am thinking about either turning into aluminum and selling on the B2B, or selling to a big company.

I would caution against picking just a single product and rather think of a range of products (i.e. don't be a "Grape Sorbet" company but rather a "Sorbet & Ice Cream" company)

How's the stock market these days?  Still horribly broken?
