So I've sort of been lurking in this thread, and have been mildly interested by the concept, but have a few questions regarding important aspects of the game, and the ratjoy website has basically no FAQ or other information on it (unless you have to register and play to actually get this information?):

  • What is the resource generation model?  Specifically: what controls what resources and how many are available?  Put in practical terms: if 1 million new players started playing tomorrow, would the number of raw material sites and the amounts they have stay the same or would it increase?
  • What is the monetary system?  What controls the generation of new money?
  • What is the basis for demand for any one particular commodity? Is there a virtual population that is growing according to some model, is it entirely based on player demand, or something else?  An example based on recent discussion: what drives demand for toilet paper instead of bidets?

Resources are conjured out of thin air by spending money and other resources on mines/wells/factories/etc. Money is created when the citizens buy stuff. I believe that the size of all the buildings determines demand but I'm not 100% sure about that.

I saw a formula, where citizen demand is a function of the total r&d, factory and store mq.

so the more the player, th emore the demand (according to each player capacity)

then there is the new formula for item demand that takes into account the world average sale price, which complicates the stuff a bit.

also, even if retail money is "limited" by sales power, there is endless money to be extracted from the export market (if your production price is low enough).

Exporting will probably be what I do from now on. It's just way better less of a hassle than running a store.

Export market isn't endless - the more you export the lower the price gets. If everyone did the export market, the price would quickly dip below the point where it's profitable.

But not everyone does the export market.

Do they?

At least one thing is still not clear to me: is the relative demand between products constant, or does it vary over time? This would apply to the "citizen" and "export" markets, not the one generated by players.  That is: do the preferences of the civilization change over time?

It changes dynamically.

Once the new server starts I'll most likely dump my CASTERLY shares on the old one. If anyone would like to buy them, CASTERLY is market leader in the desktop computer and console production (at least on B2B).

Two hours left, +/- 10 minutes.
Gonna start off with a company named Aqua Phoenix, and enjoy complete global saturation of the bottled water market.
Hey, why not?

EDIT: Or maybe I'll just be awesome.

Yeah it links you to the page I tried to link to when you log in.
Then you get the page that does, in fact, contain the phrase "DO_NOT_SHARE_THIS_LINK" in the URL.
I violated the law. What of it, imperial guard?

EDIT: Damn he's fast.
Now it just loops back to the main page. Sadness, I look crazy crazier than usual.
