I've done flagged B2B transactions to transfer money INTO public companies from my private companies and have written confirmation from the dev that he's OK with it. It probably helps that all my companies are named similiar and don't change chairman ever.
Well, I guess that makes a good bit of sense. Why would stockholders object to you giving the company money? As long as it was not stolen from a public company it really couldn't be bad... In fact, I wish the transfer money option was available to deposit into public companies you own stock in... Or, possibly some sort of cash advance functionality...

There used to be one, and it's called "issue more shares". Sadly releasing a half-finished function turned out to be a bad idea and so it won't be available until the ask/bid system is complete. Then you'll be able to release more shares and buy them up yourself, that is, until insider trading gets regulated.
But that dilutes the share-base. You are not adding money to the company since you are also increasing the ownership. Each dollar in is, on paper, owned by the shareholder. I'd like a way to add money as an asset. Like a capital injection of sorts... That way each dollar in is an added asset increasing the value of existing shareholder investments and maintaining shareholder power.

All that said I've come to realize this game has absolutely no reason to include a stock market...
The fluidity of the game obsoletes any reason to own stock without exploitable roboinvestors.
A $100m stock investment may yield you $400k in dividends each day... That is shit. I could take 50 million, start a new comp, build a few small stores, stock them, and walk away earning 5m a day AND still have 50m left over from the initial amount. Growing revenue generating assets starting at 5m (easily more) a day or .4m a day in steady income (steady until the dividend is dropped or the company is fucked over or the majority shareholder goes inactive, that is); I know which I want more.
Once the broken rorbocitizens are taken out of the picture you will not see any amazing stock jumps anymore... People will pay what stock is worth(hopefully).
So as an investor there is no good reason to buy stock...
And as a company there is no good reason to issue stock. The small initial IPO gain is not worth the restrictions placed on the company... And without robocitizens no one will buy the stock at over inflated prices from you at a future date, either; so you can't really benefit much as the founder, either.

It's nice that the devs gave out presents of filtered water.
I'm waiting to see what happens to filtered water as the price is artificially deflated at the moment due to the dupe. Keeping those 2,000,000 useless units of water for a rainy day.
The water companies just had a boom i guess, as they all have tons of the stuff! bias developers.

I find the stock market is quite cute, but not useful for much. That said I do wish i had held onto my LEMON shares and sold them when it truly boomed rather than earlier, The amount of money i would of made would of paid off my loan!

About the stock market, once "fixed", the only question will be : do you think that the money you're investing will grow faster than if you invested it in your own company?

The only time it would make sense (to me) is if i'm investing in a friend's company, helping him grow.

my money grows much faster in the stock market than it does outside of it

also, here's another stock I'm suggesting, since I sold all my gaga.

http://www.ratjoy.com/eos/stock-view.php?ss=NPC

I just bought 15 million shares, and the price has since doubled already, in the last few minutes, making me at least 12 million profit, in just a few minutes....

ya :(
I know once the new system is in place the amount of money to be made from stocks will be nowhere near as much,
I'm looking forward to the new system,  I have a few ideas as how to still make profit from it.

in Sirians post I didn't see he said "once fixed" i thought he just meant the market in general.

Investing in other companies could still be good as long as the person you're investing in isn't a greedy asshole. And if the system actually worked properly instead of inflating everything.

For instance, if a company with 50 mil did an IPO to raise 50 mil and used all that money to build up the company, they could quickly start making hundreds of millions. If they took just part of that and started paying a nice dividend every day you could get a nice revenue stream without ever having to manage a company. The problem with the current system is you have to invest a fortune in a company to buy any of it because the price is artificially inflated by the robo investors. Remove them from the equation and you could invest 50m in a company in the IPO and the company would actually GET 50m. Currently if a company worth 50 mil does an IPO for 50m extra shares, the price will quickly rocket up to $10+. To buy 50m into it you wind up having to pay like 250 mil. Of course they can't give a good return on your money if the actual worth of the company is 1/10 or less of the inflated market cap.

Take my sporting goods company - I have about 1.8b in buildings, 700m or so in land (I bought up lots of slots, heh), and I keep around 1b or so in inventory. Even with the inventory, that's about 3.5b. I get about a billion a day in net revenue, after taxes. If I had raised that 3.5b by selling 3.5b shares, I could pay a dividend of 20 cents AND pay myself a 200 mil executive bonus every day and still have 100 mil of retained earnings to continue expanding. Even if I didn't expand at all and just paid myself a huge salary for the other 300 mil the investors would still get nice returns.

It's just that people seem to be terribly greedy. Take A to B cars, for instance. They make net earnings of over 200 mil a day. On the 8th they got 377 million of net earnings. They paid themselves a salary of 116 million. They paid a dividend of 9.85 million. So of the 493 million laying about after taxes, the chairman got 23.5% of it while the shareholders of the company got less than 2% of it.

FYI, I have decided to spin off my companies to try some new strategies. They all have all retail slots unlocked with 12 buildings of the same type all upgrading for the next day or so. The companies are CHEAP right now on the stock market so if you have free cash, I suggest you buy some shares.

My experiment was semi-successful so I am re-acquiring the companies that start with BM in the ticker.

SANTORUM, the ticker for the company Santorum, has just been launched. This will supply Gingrich with food indgredients for pie and other food production. As both comapanies still have to expand to meet Empire-internal pie demand (as in within the Republican Empire, eg. Santorum and Romney, Gingrich and Paul.), you can expect increasing stock prices. A dividend may be instituited in the future. I will inform you before that is done.

I'm waiting to take Gingrich public until it's pies and other food is of an acceptable quality, and it is turning a profit from selling to Santorum and Romney so they can stock their stores.
