There's a bug in the stock raising, it seems.

...Yeah, something tells me I'm not going to be supplying the Morgan Energy Monopoly any time soon if it's run by people like those crazy wizards.

In recap:
1) Goons are wizards.
2) Goons are GODDAMN WIZARDS.
3) My friend, who is a goon, has not yet been initiated into the wizardries.
4) How the hell did they pull that one off?

Yet another edit by me:

Our first challenge is to create an entire economic infrastructure, from top to bottom, out of whole cloth. No gradual evolution from previous economic systems is possible, because there IS no previous economic system. Each independent piece must be materialized simultaneously and in perfect working order; otherwise the system will crash out before it ever gets off the ground.

Taken from the profile of one of the guys in Goon. I guess this is how they're rolling - taking over the whole market of everything in one swoop.

One decidedly megacorporational swoop, even.

Aaand the final edit of the night, I hope.

"This game has terrible mechanics. The admin doesn't fix them, even when the game is broken wide open."

One of the goons. So...yeah, basically the abused the fuck out of the game in a large group, like TDW said, and then decided to go all megacorp up in here.

The admin is mildly pissed.
Quote from: Ratan Joyce
Looked like some people had a "fun" weekend.

Since I look at all the "player generated actions" as attempts to FORCE me to change my to-do list for a game in beta, here's what I'll do, and I will not be fair.

I've made the decision to cancel my plan to migrate the DB from ratjoy.com to capitalism-online.com. Once the server is up there, everyone there will start anew. The game on ratjoy.com will still remain and act as an "experimental world" where changes are sudden and exploits are rampant, and the corrupt president (me) can "exile" anyone and "shutdown" any companies at will.

Any attempt to disagree to this announcement may get you silenced.

UPDATE:
I'm changing the admin interface today instead of changing the code to move to the new server, when this is done any company involved will be dissolved, players will be jailed, and some IPs will be banned.

They joined in sizable numbers early, made big profits individually, and then pooled their resources for a giant spending spree. Hardly rocket science.

The person supporting regenerating health, when asked why you can see when shot in the eye justified it as 'you put on an eyepatch'. When asked what happens when you are then shot in the other eye, he said that you put an eyepatch on that eye. When asked how you'd be able to see, he said that your first eye would have healed by then.

It's times like this that make me wish I could go back in time and invest all of my stock money into Goon, so that when their stock rose like a tidal wave made of bees I could ride on top of it like the most badass surfer ever.

If I could go back in time, I'd set my 30 million 0.10 electricity sold to 100 or 1000 instead.

so, I decided to sell off that company, because I think I can make 5 mil in the time it would take to expand that building. Now, is there a way to get influence other than through welfare?

I think you get influence slowly by how much fame you have.

They didn't do anything that a lot of folks haven't been doing for days. They just did it a lot more.

There has been a bug in the stock market forever. I've known about it over a week, as have others.

Basically this is it: Do an IPO. Buy up all your shares. Issue more shares. Buy up all your shares. Issue more shares. Buy up all your shares. Repeat as necessary, funneling money out of the company to buy more shares if needed. They got their company's market cap up to over 600G then did another huge issue, creating nearly 1.2T of money. Then they bought out the entire b2b.

A bunch of people have been abusing this for a while. How do you think Prophet got so high priced?
