Hey guys, I'm looking for an Overseer for Legion Merchandise. 500k pay, 5% bonus, guaranteed raises for good work, responsibilities include restocking and lazybuttoning two stores and ordering research and production while I'm not around. Preferably online access every day.


I'm looking for a Vice President (same job basically) for Toast Industries.   I'll pay 6%.

You're hired.  I've never gotten five days out of stock, but I trust your judgement.  I've got the capital to cover it.


Basically, I've been making my own banana splits, vanilla cake, pina colada, and the occasional hot chocolate, and buying everything else for the stores.

So...just starting out. Is attempting to make money on electricity a bad idea? I have a 300-size power plant and a coal mine, so I can produce electricity very, very cheaply and quite quickly.

On the other hand, I'm basically bankrupt...I have 9k left.

Just take a look at the b2b market.
You will most likely not make a lot of profit.

I suggest making toys.
There is a big lack of trade in them.

I have a feeling somebody is going to start Wal-Marting when the storeside economy becomes more fleshed out and they'll probably rise to the top gainer chart in like two days.

People are already "wal-marting". Importing low quality goods from China and selling them :P

It's just that we can produce goods cheaper than buying them from China, so to sell real cheap you'd have to make it yourself.

In that spreadsheet of yours, what goes in the Cost per Unit field? The good's base cost?
Cost per Unit is from the "cost" field of the warehouse... so either the "unit cost" from the B2B/Import markets, or whatever EoS says the cost of my manufactured goods works out to be.
Sometimes, I manually change that to a higher value when I'm trying to scale burn rate for a product I make myself (so a towel may only cost me $1.50 each, but I want to sell them at, say, 1000/day, so I set the "unit cost" until I get them to around 10/tick, then set the price at double that. I used to have a separate sheet for that sort of work, but realized that when I was handling inventory, it was far easier for me to have it all in one place.)

Okay, but why does the cost change how quickly they sell in the calculation? If I produce an item cheap or buy it expensive on import, it should sell the same provided same sales price and quality.

Unless I am misunderstanding something
Ah, yes, I forgot to mention. The "profit/tick" assumes you are selling at 2x cost. Since I'm selling more import/large-quantity-B2B goods than internally produced goods, this is a fair assumption the majority of the time. Thus why I give a fake "cost" in the cases of self-manufactured goods I'm retailing that I want to control the burn rate of.

AWESOME! Thanks for the spreadsheet. I stole the formulas for the equations as I was too lazy/dumb to try to figure them out from the admin post. Seeing increased profits already from my retail stores. :D If you want a job as a Greeter at Ball Mart, just apply. Free $75k a day.
