How did this company get so much money and networth if it doesn't sell anything, according to the graph at the right?

Also, is exporting even the least bit feasible? Looking at prices, I doubt that.

And is the speed of selling at the stores simply inversely proportional to the price?
Well... the graph only goes back to the 28th of last month. So he may have been idle since then. His stores could have have dry on or before the 28th, as could his b2b offerings.

But if you click on the owner of the company, you'll discover that this is a slave company. The owner is a billionaire (With a capital G.), so this might be VC funding dump to get the company up to where he needs/wants it to be.

Or maybe the game secretly rewards awesome name and awesome company, because Better Off Ted was a great series that got cancelled to soon.

But again, I see no incentive to go into retail unless you produce the good yourself due to everyone else creating the good themselves and then selling it in their own stores. You'd never be able to match market prices. Thus your goods would sell less well. Which is sad since an increase in dedicated retail outfits would rapidly increase demand up the supply chains. Unless I'm missing something? Maybe I'm misreading the information in the store about the "market price"?

As someone cashing in big from retail, let me tell you this isn't the case at all.  The "world average" price listed on the good in the store (see screenshot) is a guess as to where the good will actually sell.  Typically, this is decently above the cost to import it.  I'm importing cheap crap from China and reselling it at a tidy profit.  Example:

I'm making close to $40 profit per unit sold.  I could probably sell faster at a lower price and still turn a profit, but I'm content with that speed for now... actually I think I will lower it, because 8 units a tick is pretty slow.

The spike in sales near the left is where I expanded the store from 40 to 100m^2.

How do you decide how to price things?


I look at the world price and quality, and compare it to my own quality level.  Assuming the quality's about the same, then I price it a bit above (5% or so) the world price.  I wait a tick, see how many units sold, and adjust it accordingly.  If the quality is much different than the average quality, I adjust the price up or down for that.

If the sale price would then be more than what I would pay for it, I don't buy it in the first place.  (Designer dresses, I'm looking at you.)

None.  If you can import it at X price, so can anyone else. It'll never sell at X*1.1 price.

If you're running a retail store, you are far better off selling a few of lots of products than a lot of one product.  Demand is considered on a per-product basis- there's zero competition among your own store's products.
