http://www.ratjoy.com/forum/topic/a-single-place-for-all-revealed-formulas/2

$1 x (building size) ^ 1.2
I asked for proper formula because this one is complete bullsh*t. I would pay ~20k salaries while i'm paying 120k. I could only use production costs % formula (constant is wrong) and maintenance costs from there.
edit: My bad, that formula is actually right. I just had a problem with finding a multiplier because I made 2 mistakes rewriting data.

I think I might get back into this again if I can find something that I want to produce and/or sell. I'm thinking maybe apparel of some kind.

No one's selling wigs right now, and quality raw materials are available in large quantities, if a bit expensive.

Try fur/wool coats. Big coats, big profit, big fun.

So, is anyone on this forum still playing this?  I started playing a couple months ago because of this thread, and am still playing.  I'm almost to 10 billion net worth on the test server; funny how that is still pretty small in this game.  I've seen players with a net worth in the quadrillions.

I still produce ridiculous amounts of natural gas, power, water and coal, yes. Also belts but I'm getting kicked out of the business by the big kids. PM me if you want to buy any of the above at a discount, coal's something q70 by now.

I'm #20 networth on the main server, #30 on the test server. (I blame my unwillingness to exploit, and my contentment to slowly take over markets, rather than exploiting the most lucrative ones.)

I managed to dominate the market on several different kinds of apparel when I made that post but it was short-lived. This game is a bit too repetitive for my liking.

I'm guessing that puts your net worth in the hundreds of trillions, if not into the quadrillions.
I would just look for myself ingame, but am at work at the moment. :)

The problem with this game is the low playerbase. There isn't anyone to mess with and not enough people to do shenanigans.

Yeah, that's a problem.  Though I saw that you guys were trying to corner the electricity market earlier.  How'd that work out?

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interaction between the players.  Maybe it's a little too easy to produce everything that you need yourself.

It's not easy when you're starting out. Maybe when you have ludicrous amounts of cash it's easy but when you're starting out it's hard as all hell. At the very least you're likely to not make a profit.

There is no reason to interact at all, anyone gravitate toward self sustained production as it is the most efficient way to churn products to retail.

It means you are starting wrong. At start try to produce first thing in production chain that can be sold in retail (2nd or 3rd tier max). Aim for products that got low market satisfaction (check on eospedia). Then expand from there. I had 20x markup on 2nd tier item (1st tier = require only elec/water) until a competition shows up a week later.
Game is getting boring fast. I'm just logging in to queue next 24h runs.

Once I got all my companies on a standard schedule, I could make it a twice-a-week game. I don't think that's a weakness, per se... lots of people watch tv shows that only air once a week.
