I think I'm going to bow out of this game early. Seems a bit simplistic tbh with none of the features that would be interesting, like a contracting system between companies for example or outsourcing production to newbie companies.

dam you guys  now i have to use gas for my power plant!

or i can just join to as it cost me $5.4 per unit of coal.

edit urist steel ant dwarf a nuff?

Well using gas for power is actually cheaper I think. Did a quick calculation on my cellphone calculator a few hours ago

Yeah, it's cheaper, as with my weird coal odd job, I had a well also, and Natural Gas is cheaper just by eyeballing it.
So maybe natural gas would be a good thing to hold a monopoly on also?  If you have the money, of course, since The last guy before a dollar a unit would take 5.8 million Dollars to buy all of the stock he has.

That's a lot of water.

And on the subject of natural gas monopoly - like I mentioned earlier, I have a 200 square meter well, and am producing it at the very moment. Once I get myself back on my feet(I've been a little too spend-happy), I can focus on that.

If it has Urist in its name, it's probably ours, so it shouldn't be that much of a problem to our monopoly.

And Toaster, did you buy a single can of gasoline from me? Quite a small playerbase :P

Hah, was that you?  You were selling it for a dollar, and I resold it for ten.  Check your pricing before you list! :P

Is it even possible to sell stuff wholesale?

You can export most things, which is done in bulk.  Things like hot food and desserts (things that would spoil) can't, though.

It's also early beta.  Hit the suggestion forum!

Selling designer shoes at 4.5k markup and designer handbags at over 7k markup.  Yay consumerism!

True, but I need to re-coup my losses. I spent 2 million buying coal and if you guys sell for less then I wont get my money back.

How does import/export work? Where does it go to and come from (other players/NPCs)? Why do that over using shops/B2B to sell or buy?

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

It goes away. Basically, its a recourse sink. You can use it to sell stuff that a player would not need (Planes, cars, jewelry, ect.)

Should we try and corner the natural gas market as well?

Import/export is from/to NPC players.  Generally you import a good if there is no other players producing it and you export it if you need some quick cash (You can sell it in stores and on the B2B market for more that you can export it)

Not everything can be imported or exported, check first!

Hey Stockadedbakers, did you you just buy $10 coal from me and resold it for $10? I'm happy to make the sale, but you do know that the B2B market charges commission right?

Sengoku:  You're the most helpful spam bot there is!

On that note, what is the commission?  It's around 5% from what I saw of that one unit sale, but does it go down from bulk sales?
