Explain the Above Poster's Quirk
« on: April 08, 2012, 06:25:38 pm »

Because I have nothing better to do with my time.

One person posts any kind of personality "Quirk" he has, then the next poster tries to explain it. Extra points goes to the more elegant explanations. Also, try and make the Quirk you post related to the one above, if possible. I'll start:

I have a irrational fear of dogs. Whenever I see one, I instantly get a irresistable urge to run for my life, especially if they are unchained or don't have a collar. This obviously doesn't end well normally.

The human psyche formulates its emotional as well as rational responses to other entities based on a predefined set of parameters. In your case, said parameters are arrayed in such a way that they do not enable to exercise a fundamental empathy toward or to anthropomorphize  of members of the canine species, thus rendering them incomprehensible, and therefore terrifying homunculi before your senses.

I eat clay.

Like many mammals who lick the clay and consume clay at natural salt licks, you attempt to consume trace minerals, but especially Na and Cl along with the clay, despite the modern human usually having much more salt than needed.

I like making forum games more than playing them.

There is a greater sense of pride associated with creating something than with enjoying it.

Your lack of one C and the extra K indicate you eat too much greens (Vitamin K) and too little citrus fruit (Vitamin C).

That is all.

I like to draw but I'm horrid at it.

I tend to get into arguments I don't care about simply cause I know I'm right.

You do this so regardless of whether you win the argument or not, you always tell yourself you have won, thereby giving yourself an illusion of self-righteousness and superiority. However, this is only because you are insecure and subconciously have doubts about your beliefs. The psychological shield of winning trivial arguments acts as a barrier, but also a plea for self-assurance.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is awesome, this is not strange or out of the ordinary. You are completely normal.

I purposefully take the most extreme stance in any potential argument, even if I don't actually think that we should, say, start executing Homophobes in the street in order to put an end to that sort of thinking.

Extreme stances are also the most funnest to defend.

I'm a transhumanist.

Modern thought and culture have developed in a direction and to such a point that that idealists, who by their natures must glorify progression absolutely, have but one direction to move- ever upward. In the past, this involved the synthesis of traditional cultural models. The product of this is the budding notion that not only traditional and ethnic culture, but all human subjectivity itself, is something that can be overcome in favor of something greater. While this reality has yet to be actualized, the very idea exerts a primordial influence, harkening back to our first steps as a gregarious species.

Depression is pretty common.  It can be treated in a wide variety of ways and depressive people have gone on to accomplish great things.  Many even use their depressive experiences to great ends.

I make flip diagnosis.
