I have an artifact lignite bed.

Best suggested use for this wonderful artifact?

I'm guessing it will involve !!fire!!

Create a soap shrine out of some  creature like a cave crocodile and make it a ritual that the chosen worshipers of cave crocodile  jesus have to sleep in the said bed, while it's on fire.

It's what I would do anyways.

Build a shrine.

Atop this shrine, lies the bed.

The bed is on fire.

Designate it as a communal bedroom.

Keep the amount of bedrooms you have constant, so every now and then a migrant Dwarf gets tired, and is drawn into the shrine.

But fire doesnt kill, its the clothes that burn, not the creature, since FBs are nude, it wont work.

Can they destroy grates?  Because I'm thinking you could trap one in a 1x1 cell with a single steel grate and use it as an eternal fireplace to decorate somebody's room with.

Think it's just strange material FBs that are fireproof.
At any rate, they like to destroy furniture from two tiles away, so consider putting the bed in a small room only accessible from the caves via staircase, so they pop up right next to it.
