I was attempting to create an aboveground fortress complete with a large castle wall and an assortment of structures inside. I had the population cap set too high (for me anyway) and my population kept rising well past 100. Normally I don't have more that 80 dwarves at any given time. Anyway due to some situations where unfortunate dwarves got caught outside during a goblin siege many of the dwarf children became unhappy because many of the dwarves had three of four children each. My fortress started to spiral down into depression, dwarves going insane, dying, causing others to go beserk and be struck down. I lost perhaps thirty this way and more still are miserable. It got to the point where every thirty seconds or so a dwarf would go beserk and be struck down. So then not surprisingly another dwarf went insane.
Ilral Geshuduzol, Ranger cancels Drink: Went insane.
Ilral Geshuduzol, Ranger has gone stark raving mad!
I looked over into my dining room where the Ranger had been eating until he went insane and he was almost immediatley struck down. I didn't see any millitary dwarves in the vicinity to I checked reports and there were only three entries under his name.
The spinning x({alpaca wool trousers})x strikes The Ranger in the head, bruising the muscle, jamming the skull through the brain and tearing the brain!
The Ranger has been knocked unconscious!
Moldath Delernam…sh, Ranger has been shot and killed.
I couldn't believe it, I couldn't figure out how it happened. There were at least a dozen dwarves standing around when he was killed but I couldn't figure out who threw their pants at him. Is it normal behavior for dwarves to throw their pants at other dwarves? It's not the trousers throwing part as much as it is the trousers headshot. Any ideas on how or why this could happen?
