This is the image from the Artifact website I didn't make itI found this extremely neat RPG system called
The Artifact, it is a pretty detailed system, with a ton of different character occupations (Think classes from D&D). It allows for large all out wars to be possible by grouping the units together, and giving them all one to two rolls for their stuff, and yet it still remains believable. On top of that the game allows for you to build structures, modify vehicles, and even program computers (Yes this may mean you could make an entirely auto-mated mech suit rampage through a rile of blood-thirsty rat-type creatures.). There is even the possibility of your
Tank being hacked by one of the fierce Chezbah Priests, they could even invade your mind, and break it causing you to attack your own allies.
All together the system is really nice, and I think it'd be a lot of fun, so I want to run a campaign of it. The campaign would center around the players (Six to eight of you) who just joined the ASO (Meaning you'd have to choose a Character Occupation of Private Rank) being sent to their first assignment, watching over an old Fire-base on the surface which protects a minor supply line for the ASO forces on the Artifact. When you arrive the base will be little more then a barracks, some old abandoned houses, massive foot thick stone walls along with their gates, and a handful of green soldiers preparing for a shipment from the supply line. You'll be able to upgrade the base, adding bunkers, buying new supplies, outfitting the soldiers (Those that survive), gaining new vehicles, and all the while you'll follow a campaign. That campaign will take you to the deadly center of the Artifact's surface where vehicles are your only choice of movement as gravity, and atmosphere are so bad that you'll die as soon as you step foot outside, to the methane wastes beyond, and the empty hollow hex-walls barrens of the Artifact.
We'd be using the basic PDF (You as players would take the Players Handbook instead), and both source books
The Artifact's Engineers, and
The Fringe, all of which are free so you don't have to buy anything. I'd be hosting the sessions on Saturday, or Sunday each week around 5'o clock (UTC - 8:00) Pacific Time. I may change some of the rules in the book as I see fit to make it more fun and such, and if you are interested keep in mind this will be a slightly combat oriented campaign (I'm not saying not to take the Engineer, and classes like that, but just keep in mind how you'll want your role to play out in the battle.)
Anyone interested?
