fishing and canning is what would work best. tourism could work too, but that would exclude a lot of other stuff.
half of the island will soon be covered by infrastructure and housing.
cash crops can work short term, but long term I think we should exploit the sea, since we have so much of it.

I cut down the western part of the island and build farms and industry there, leave the trees in the south-east and do some tourism there. We are communist farmers foremost but why not rip of some fat yanks? Let them suffer the vices of capitalism and let us reap the harvest for the good of the people. Viva la revolution!

Yeah but Tourism is exploitable forever and we can kidnap celebrities while they are looking at our houses and putting them up for ransom.

One second I am being informed I cannot do that in this game.

tbe bad things about tourism are
1) price. takes a while to get back your money. we are already below 0.

2) tourists probably don't like having farms and fisheries just out of their hotels. but sadly we can't avoid them due to having to feed our population. that means we would be limited to low income tourists.

I think canned tuna would work best, but I'd like to be proven wrong. tourism is a good source of income, long term.

Hola, mi fellow Tropicans!

As you can see, the Tenement is finished, and the farms are starting to bring in sugar! As El Presidente said upon the first cargo going off, "The Sugar must flow."

The economy thus boosted, it was quickly dropped into the negative as El Presidente purchased large amounts of vodka.
However, the constant whining of this citizens caused him to bribe the builders with a pint of his finest Smirnoff to build a couple of farms, ranches, and a fishing wharf.

Come on, let's not use tourism, or anything so capitalist.  Let's try to create a TRUE Communist society, one free of hypocrisy.

After only a year since the last time the beutiful island of Tropico now boasts a clinic!
Hopefully this will help our population from dropping like the flies they are!

Have you allied with the U.S.S.R yet?  If not, do so.

Also, make more farms and soldiers.  NOTHING ELSE.

Halo mi Tropicans!
As you all know, El Presidente has finally passed the honour of being are Presidente on to another!
Ah, but I get ahead of myself...

As you can see, El Presidente in his infinte wisdom, built another tenement to house the faithful communist workers!
Indeed, a small affordable restraunt was planned to help the working man work off his stress.
Indeed, the militarizing of the island had already started, with an armory and police station already begining construction!
EXCLAMTION POINTS!

Here you can see a year later the building which El Presidente had planned are already finished.
Indeed, our work force is the envy of all the islands!
A prison and road were subsquentlly planned.

Some vacas estúpidas thought that El Presidente should let the people "vote." What mierda.
As you can see in the background, the fishing wharf was completed, and several tenements were planned.

Of course, not soon after El Presidente got the infamous telegram from the KGB.
No when knows what the telegram said, but after El Presidente told me he was leaving in a year.
Indeed, it is said, no?
Not pictured here is the finished prison and a finished tenement.

One of the last thing El Presidente did was issue the excution of the leader of the intelectuales malditos, and the arrest of one of it's strong supporters.

This is the final photo of the island, before El Presidente retired.
As you can see El Presidente planned to increase our military might, however his untimely "retirement" caused these plans to fail.

This was found on El Presidente's desk after he left on the boat to Moscow.

This is the last photo during the first Presidete's reinar. Boy, was that a night for a life time! Mi head felt like a tortuga se la comió.
Let us have a moment of prayer for our Presidente.

Oren, algo, que Dios se apiade de su alma, negro, bla, bla, amén ...

But the question remains, who will be are next Presidente? YOU decide.
